I'll just say people on "the other side" are no more pleased with the way things are going... I know no politically involved person of *any* persuasion who is happy with the govt right now. The problem isn't left or right, it's "low information voters".... those people who tune out till election day and then go "oh, is that today?" and wander in and punch a ballot. Those are the people screwing all of us, because they continually put politicians in power who are beholden to big interests instead of the people. *Every* politician is beholden to big interests to some extent - in order to win an election, you have to have obscene amounts of cash, and it's gotta come from somewhere - but some are much much worse than others. Unfortunately, the more you're willing to take cash from Big Oil, Big Pharma, Big Tobacco, Big Special Interest (left or right) or Billionaire Crazy Guy (left or right), the more "visible" you are, and thus the more likely the uninformed sheep will pull the lever for you because they see your name everywhere so you must be popular.

I'm really involved in my local party, and I've seen more decent, moderate people get shellacked in a primary because they refused to take big money than you could shake a stick at... the moral folks who are willing to listen to dissent just don't have a voice anymore.

And that's why personal freedoms are disappearing left and right.... a horrible combination of big money and voter apathy. And anyone who's smart should be freaked out by that, no matter their politics.

Anyway dripped a taste into my atty last night before bed and not quite what I was expectin', the spice was very-very pronounced, hopin' some creaminess comes out with a little more time...
