ok so I'm really new to vaping only about a month and luckily i found MBV early on and its been all i vape ever since. But i started wondering if the prices reflected the quality of the liquid (like a dollar menu vs steakhouse) so i decided to try one of the more expensive juices that pbusardo recommended to see if i was missing out. So I ordered some gorilla juice from alien Visions. I got it today and im deff not too impressed it tastes like straight cigar with no banana and i know taste is subjective but i still think MBV has just as much flavor as the more expensive vendors. So MBV is deff staying my go to liquid store!

Hardly any juices will taste 'right' the day you get them. Alien tends to take a while from what I hear. If you can, leave the cap off for a few days & then give it a good shake every day for a week or two. Try it after that & see if it gets any better.

So I decided to give another go at the genesis I have, this time I was going to try silica for the wick.

Keep in mind I have no idea what I'm doing Needless to say, it didn't work. Wouldn't wick fast enough I guess, as I keep getting dry hits. Oh well, it's all a learning experience in the end.

With my Genny's dependin' on the PG/VG ratio I sometimes need to run with the fill hole opened, as long as you tilt with the wick facin' you it shouldn't be an issue. That said I haven't been overly successful trying straight silica as a wick....

Nice to see you here.
It doesn't hurt to try other vendor's juices, but almost all benefit from steeping.

yeah i totally understand that. but from what ive read from other people is gorilla juice is great right out of the mailbox and everyone says the banana flavor fades overtime :-/ and i really cant see it fading anymore then it is lol but we shall see.

I don't know that exact flavor so I don't know for sure, but I have had juices that take a little while to 'marry' & have the flavors come together, only to fade out after that. I've also had a mocha that didn't taste like chocolate at all at first... 2 weeks later it was a chocolate bomb & all the other flavors disappeared (but they weren't all that good to begin with, no loss there). After the chocolate appeared it faded somewhat quickly but predictably. Maybe it'll do something like one of those. Don't give up on it though I hope it gets better for you!

Really switching it up tonight. Moo juice in the PT2 and Sticky Bun in an evod. Not sure how I feel about the sticky bun. Thinking it probably needs a little more steep time as it is only 12 days old. Right now I prefer cinnamon roll. Will revisit in a week or 2.

This morning I happened to see a post from someone and the title only read something along the lines of "I got Fired for Vaping" so I checked it out, turns out the person that got fired is in the town in which I live and he worked for the Marion County Clerks Office, I was a bit perplexed and upon reading the whole thing it was still perplexing as the Marion County Board of Commissioners had passed the ordinance that vaping is now only allowed where smoking is permitted, what I found totally perplexing was why regardless of any ordinance would someone that works for the County Clerk didn't know A. That the ordinance was past on Dec 6th and B. Why would you take the chance on vaping inside when you know that smoking is not allowed within 50 feet of the properties and then only in designated areas. While I feel bad for this person, that fact is you regardless, you need to use common sense and when you are working for the County, City or State there are more stringent policies that need to be followed, not to mention that those around you will say something. He did mention that there were 4 women all huddled together and kept looking at him while he was vaping. Well, yeah, inside to boot.

I felt the same way....I don't think I'm much of a caramel guy :/ and think that's what's keeping me blah about sticky bun....might have to kellinize it and add some cinnamon roll then see how I feel about it. So far vanilla custard is the only flavor I can't stand to vape

Sticky Bun is a *weird* one with regard to steep time, I've found. The first time I got some (30ml, 12mg, 65/35, 2 shots), it was steeped after a hot water steep + 3 days.

The second was another 30ml, 50/50, 18mg, 2 shots, and took a hot water steep + 4 or 5 days.

Nothing funny so far, since more VG and more nic generally add steep time.

The third was 2 50ml bottles at 18mg, 50/50, 2 shots
and 1 50ml bottle at 12mg 50/50 2 shots.

One of the 18mg bottles took a solid month plus a hot water bath to steep. The other one was steeped in 3 weeks plus a hot water bath. The 12 mg one is *still* steeping.... and those times are with tons of caps off time and prodigious shaking. Obviously 50ml is going to take longer to steep than 30ml, but after about a week, I decanted them into smaller bottles - and they still took forever.

The fourth order was 30ml, 18mg 50/50 and is steeped at hot water + 8 days old.

I think it's the caramel candy that causes the variance in steep time, because when it's not steeped enough, I tend to get a really off caramel-crossed-with-orange-pith note out of it and little else.

Be patient with it... when it's finally done doing its thing, it's delicious.
