Just some no-name unbleached ones I had kicking around (doublechecked the back of the bag to make sure it was untreated, and the bag was sealed, so I should be good there). The flavor hasn't changed, it just took a half hour or so for the cotton to expand enough to give me a nice smooth draw. Working like a champ now. I'll definitely use it again, just don't have strong feelings either way in this particular setup... other than cost, as you point out!

see i got unlucky. i bought a bag of cotton balls, and the tasted...weird.. glad its working for ya!

Don't you silly Flordians start putting on heavy coats & stocking caps when it's 50 outside?

12 is t-shirt weather. Perhaps a long sleeve tee if there's a breeze. :D

hat? I forgot about hats.. I have this massive mop of hair that I usually refer to as a big sweater on my neck.. guess I need to start digging to see if we have a stocking hat around.. or start crocheting.

Morning sam. How are you sir?
HAI OPAL!!! I got my max vg juice in!!

nice! I hope you got WC.. big fluffy WC in max VG

Morning Sam.. yep.. we have sunshine.. biting cold windy sunshine - it was still in the 60's when I last ventured outside yesterday.. *SHOCKER* when I went out to let the chickens out this morning

Also it was 26 degrees out side when I woke up this morning. I actually had to wear a long sleeve shirt to go walk the beast before leaving for work. Uncommonly cold for south central Texas.

I stand by my "epiphany" Humans should not live where palm trees are not native, it's just not comfortable. :) I grew up in the panhandle of Texas and left soon as I could. A snow shovel is no longer a necessity. :)

Good morning MBVers!
vaping Hawk Sauce for the first time MAN IS IT GOOD. From the chatter on the MBV site it does not contain menthol but they add an "alcohol flavoring" of sekrit and it gives it that cool taste. ME LOVES HAWK SAUCE NOW!!!!

On Cotton...
I use it because it is easier to work with, you get to keep your coil and re-wick. That is important to me because building tiny coils with these boxing gloves is hard! I tried all the different kinds, with boiling and not boiling. Until I finally grasped the less is actually better thing I could not get the slight taste of cotton to go away. I no longer get the slight taste of cotton but use very little because it wicks so well and swells to fill the coil. I am currently using cotton that I picked my self and do not boil. I just pull the seeds out of it. :)
To quote PBusardo "I do not remember once having boiled a cigarette before smoking it." However if boiling is your thing then go for it!

On Pain, Pain sucks! I am but a spring chicken at 47. I started "pain management" at 30 for early onset degenerative arthritis. I got off of it after a year or two because I did not like feeling drugged up. I have reconsidered at this point and entered pain management again. 5 disks in the lower back collapsing, one set of vertebra actually starting to naturally fuse. Doc said if it were one or two they would do surgery but with that many in a row they medicate and wait for nature to take it's course. Cartilage in both knees is gone with partially detached ligaments but "your only 47, no surgery other that replacement will help, take your pain meds and get as close to 60 as you can stand then come see us". Pain just bites no matter what, I am finding that all the treatments for it suck as well. As my Wife's grandmother used to say "Getting older bites, but it sure does beat the alternative" :)

Pretending to work with Sticky Bun (Have not tried it yet), Lightspeed, Cinnamon Roll and Hawksauce in prefilled Protank 2s on the desk in front of me. :vapor:

what on earth! Lol that's some organic cotton there!

The HO definitely leaves a slight taste, you can preboil them in distilled/RO, but I don't even bother. It's really not that big of a deal. Not sure what you're tasting though. I do make sure the wick is thoroughly saturated & fully expanded before I even fill the tank, not sure if that's got something to do with it.

Edit: and maybe how much you're using. I knew to use very, very little when I started with it. I used a very meager amount... and discovered later, that was still about 3x too much. I've taken a dozen or 2 wicks off this same cotton ball & it still looks the same size as when I pulled it out of the bag.

Taste is fine (and better than silica) and I think I've got the amount right (which was a combination of carefully watching five or six different tutorials and pure luck)... there's a truly tiny amount in there and it's working great. It's just easier for me to wrap a coil with silica, so right now, which one I use is kind of a toss up... I'm sure that'll change with a RBA, and it might change as I get better at wrapping smaller coils, too. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

I live in a sensitive area for groundwater pollution. Any crops grown have to be treated organically. Saw the farmer down the road starting to harvest his cotton and asked if I could pick some. He said sure "get all you can carry" Life time supply of organically grown, never treated, never machined, hand picked, fresh cotton :)

I even have seeds now if I want to grow a few plants :)

In an experimental mood today, apparently. Finished off a mini tank of Root Beer Float and decided to see what happened if I added Sticky Bun without rinsing everything out (partly because trying to get Root Beer out of a tank is a bit of an operation, anyway). It's surprisingly delicious! Not something I'd want to vape on a regular basis, but it really does taste like a Sticky Bun with some form of spiced icing.

Exactly. One day when I'm rich and famous (ha), I'm going to put in a sink I first saw at a science museum... the counter and plumbing are nested and wired up to a switch on the wall... hit the switch and the entire thing raises to a maximum height of about 5 1/2 feet or drops to a minimum height of about 2'. You lose the usual cupboard space underneath, of course, but a setup like that would be much more conducive to cleaning out my gear more than once a day... and it'd also make cooking and dishes far less of an endurance sport!

You know what, i quit smoking cigs and started vaping in April (oh, my counter will soon say 9 months!!!) and i have NEVER even tried a tobacco flavored vape. Is that normal for anyone else? I mean, i know i am far from normal, so i have been told!

I haven't either. The allure has been there a couple times but for some reason I never actually go through with making an order.

Just did my first recoil with cotton. Not sure what I think just yet. It's different... whether it's better, I haven't decided. Going to vape this all day and see if I change my mind as it breaks in.

Sam... whaddya know, I happen to have Root Beer sitting here and a tank of vanilla butternut to top up....

...yep, it's root beer float. Awesome.

That kind of miracle is exactly what you need to actually get things moving... I hear a lot of people say "get a lawyer" but the truth is that rarely does much good. Persistence and luck is what it takes. Glad things worked out for you, fingers crossed that the next step goes as well.
I have been using cotton for a awhile now, it usually takes anywhere from 8 to 20 good pulls in my evod to get that cotton taste out and the juice flowing nicely but YMMV. I love cotton, so cheap, so available and I can use it in everything I have.

Im starting on my DIY journey and its a good thing Im a hoarder! I was digging in my dresser drawers and seen where I have saved nearly all my MBV bottles that I have washed out and about 10 30 ml and 10 15 ml glass bottles from a previous vendor before I discovered MBV.

I much rather use the glass bottles. Does anyone know of a good website to get some at a reasonable price? I would like to try to get some 50 ml glass bottles as well.

My wife bought mine from Amazon, but DustyZ might know of a better deal.

Yep, I made the mistake of using too much a few times. The cotton flavor definitely sticks around for a bit.

Well I made it to work, but only because they sent someone for me. I was NOT about to go in if I had to drive. Driveway had not been plowed yet....but really doesn't do any good till the wind stops blowing anyway.
Vaping sherbet, and some butterscotch and brought bubblegum with me also....got to have a variety to keep me warm today :).
Hope everyone stays off the roads and stays safe and warm thru all this.
