I'm having great success with 6 wraps of Kanthal 32 and 3mm silica or cotton yarn. I pre fire the wire before I wrap it and dry burn while blowing on it also after it's built. So far, perfect performance, but that's on the vivi novas. Wrapped 6 tonight with my cat close by as usual, dying to get his paws in there! I need to wrap my first evods tomorrow before I hit the road for KC Tue. morning. Have my tool box full of juices, chargers, batteries, rebuilding supplies, meter, drip tips, carto tanks, and clearos.....and a passthrough for the drive. Ahh....even though it's 2 11 hr. days on the road to get there.....this is the advantage of driving. I can bring all of my gear!! I even have a couple of my spousal unit's old college text books on physics and circuits, devices and systems.....ohm's law....gotta know it! On topic....I cannot wait until a few days from now to check the juice status...crossing fingers. I've got a list of at least 6 flavors I'm needing to buy big bottles of.....probably like most of you!! :)

I use 32g with a 4/5 wrap and I've never had a coil pop so I dunno. Are you letting it get too hot? When dry burning I never let it glow for more than 2 seconds and I blow air on it from about a foot away (I've never had one pop, but when I finally do I don't want it popping in my face).

I've actually been ripping off 7 wrap 32g coils on 3 mm for my evods... 2.2/2.3 ... work like a champ. I tried pulling off no top wicks, but there is tiny little gap there, so I've been throwing in a 1mm top wick to close it off.

And now I am back on my vapor tongue triage juice.. Ecto Cooler... loaded it up in my little RDA and back to that for the time being. Of the juices I have, it's the one that gives me the best taste when my buds betray me.

Hey... I picked up some 10 ml blunt tipped bottles from ECB.... anyone have any idea what kind of plastic is in there? There was no mention of whether or not it is caustic juice safe or not. I'd like to throw the EC in there to make it a little easier to drip into my RDA, but I don't want to reach into my bag one day and find a puddle of Ecto and a half-gone bottle.

Dusty.....Yeah, the 900 is actually the one I got. I noticed I'd linked you to the 650 after I'd already posted it. I'm sending that fully steeped bottle of pear to you tomorrow. Hope you will like it. It's a strong flavor, might be good with a little menthol or mint of some kind added to it. I like the SVD...looks cool. You'll enjoy that!! :) oops....forgot to click reply with quote...this is in reply to your post on bookmarking that passthrough Dusty, and getting your SVD soon.

I ordered two 50ml bottles from MBV on Friday night the 23rd. It was shipped on Saturday and was in my mailbox on Monday. They are in WA and I am in SC. How fast is that and a nice surprise bottle with my order.

I had also ordered on the 23rd and I am in North Central, Florida, got mine today as well. I've always gotten mine in 2 business days, faster then I get things mailed in Florida, can't ask for any better! MBV has got the most consistent and fastest service I have dealt with. :toast:

Looks good to me! That's almost exactly what mine are looking like except I'm doing 6 wraps. I also push them together and work them with a quilting needle....I've gotten to where I usually only need to work one wire with the needle...the less messing with them, the less shredding. I'm doing what one video demo said and wrapping 3 to the right, then I'm going back and wrapping 3 to the left. It's working out great. Maybe all the years of doing fine embroidery and painting have helped but I find the wrapping to be getting easier and easier and really fun....but I'm a tinkerer.

Here is one I just wrapped... Sorry for the crappy quality. 32g, 7 wraps on a 3mm silica wick (needs a single 1mm top wick though to close the little gap to the post base). I have gorilla hands, and a bit of a the morning coffee shakes. And it bugs the hell out of me that coils 3 and 4 are a little borked.

I guess the trick is to not give a crap. Once wrapped, that wire is pretty sturdy, so I push it together, work it with a push pin... provided you don't chew up the wick, you can beat that coil up to get it tight and compact.

Now, a smaller wick, I might have issues. But I can wrap a 3 mm wick, and a 8 mm compound wick for my RDA... so that's all I need to worry about. :)

With 6 wraps of 32 ga what resistance are you getting? Somewhere around 2.4-2.6 ohms?

Edit to add:
I wrapped 3/4 of 32 gauge around 4 1mm sylica and it worked out to 1.8 ohms.

Love it!!!

Its funny, when I see the collections people have, the first few lines from a song in "The Little Mermaid" always play in my head:

"Look at this stuff... Isn't it neat? Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?... Wouldn't you think I'm the girl... Girl who has... Everything? Look at this trove, treasures untold... How many wonders can one (storage bin) hold?.....
I got gadgets and gizmos a plenty... I got whosits and whatsits galore.... But who cares? No big deal.... I want mooooore..."

Lol.. :D

Yep, coffe vapes often turn dark over time and can be tank crackers....same with chocolates in my experience.

Morning Vape is a tank cracker? *scratches head* I hate that happened to your only EVOD - those are my favorite toppers. (well, EVODs and mini T3s.)

With 6 wraps of 32 on a 3 mm wick, I get closer to 2/2.1 with 7, it's 2.2/2.3

The only way I am going to get higher than that would be to go with 34 gauge... There's a wee bit of space in there for another wrap, but things would be really tight, and at that point, I'd be worried about the positive lead not getting clear of the coil housing before getting to the insulator... I have yet to have a short at 7 wraps... so I am going to avoid the whammy and not press my luck with one last spin.

I have used the mini vivi nova metal tanks from the beginning....since April....and still use them every day. They come in full size too. I never hear any talk about them but have found them to be a great little product for those juices...plus, every time you order one of the Original Vision branded ones, it comes with 3 heads....nice deal....and super easy to rebuild...just a thought. :)

As much as I like my evod's, I find more and more of my go-to juices are tank crackers. I wish it wouldn't be such an investment to switch to all glass tanks.

Thanks Roonies, got it all bookmarked, like I really need bookmarks, go so many of them! lol

Looking forward to the Pear, if everything holds the way it has been I am sure I will like it. I'll be ordering the materials I mentioned to you and will get those off to you when they are ready and I hope you will enjoy them, these are a heck of a lot stronger then what you would buy in any store, I gave my father some of the Cassia (Cinnamon cones) that I made and he loved them, I had told him to make sure to put them in a different room as they are so darn strong, but he's got a pretty big bar/kitchen living room combination so there is a lot of space and he is now out of those and is bugging me to make him more, so I am going to need to get more Cassia oil to make him more as well. lol Can't believe he loves that stuff so much.

The SVD is going to have to wait about a month as I am already broke and haven't even gotten paid yet as the vape funds are already spoken for... lol Surprise, surprise!

yep...pretty much consistent at 2.5, which is right where I want it on my spinners. We'll see how that changes when I get my Provari and start using glass and pyrex tanks. More research....every day.....

You reminded me that I've been meaning to ask you about Pinon! When I stayed in Santa Fe a few years back the whole downtown square smelled of cinnamon, cedar and pinon. It was in the air when you opened the window...best smell ever!! I bought the little brick pinon incense and have never been able to find anything like it here. LOVE it so much! Do you dabble in that scent?? When the package arrives at the P.O. I hope it arrives on the day the long haired hippie dude is working....that patchouli is going to smell right through the package I'll bet!! Oh, and no rush...I'm going to be gone back to KC and So. Dak., then back to KC for at least the next two weeks. I'll let ya know when I'm on my way back home and you can send it then.
SORRY SORRY SORRY for the wayyyy off topic if I've offended anyone....but hey, I've posted my fair share of MBV reveiws here with many more to come....so.....:p

Weird... how are my coils so much lower? With 6 wraps, that's a good half ohm.... If it was a matter of 4 mm wicking vs 3... I could see it, buy you are at the same wick diameter. No touching coils anywhere.

I'll check the spool again... I am pretty sure I went with 32, but it is almost like I have 30 instead.

No doubt about it....MVS is where I get mine. I get all of my evods at MBV though and love them for the non crackalack'n juices!

Vivis.... yeah, considering giving them a second shot. My first and only was a rather crap poor knockoff of the knockoff... Might have a better experience with a Vision unit though.

Well, I am using an old school multi meter so there's some wiggle room there.
