I just got my MBV order in, it really seems like I can't go wrong with MBV juices. I got Guava, Blueberry, Pineapple, and they sent red apple as a free sample.

The Red Apple tastes good, a very REAL apple flavor, NOT apple candy or anything. Honestly if someone had a plate of fresh cut red apples, and a plate with some of this juice on it, I could not smell the difference. I prefer the authentic fresh tasting juice, so this one gets a thumbs up from me. There is a slight "funk" if that's the best way to describe it, I'm thinking it just needs some steep time. The funk is almost like a very slight alcoholic or slight vinegar flavor. It's barely noticeable, but I hope a steep will kill it. If not, it's still tasty and vapeable, although short of excellent with that funk in there.

I had gotten the Red Apple as a freebie, it's smells great, but on inhale I get I guess you summed it up a "funk", not sure what else it could be, on exhale I do taste the apple and as you stated it is not like candy but the real thing. I am also hoping that steeping will get rid of that "funk" taste on inhale, on mine it seems to be very pronounced on inhale but not on exhale.

Would have been classic!

Not sure if you'd WANT that to be your claim to fame, but whatever it takes. Amirite?

Would not be my greatest moment. Did make me actually LOL instead of just SALTS. For the uninitiated thats smiled a little then stopped which would replace an estimated 98% of the LOLs of the world

Yep I totally agree, it's really only on the inhale I can detect it. Kind of a short, sharp off flavor that goes away quickly. I'm a craft beer lover, and drink a lot of sour beers, which generally use lactobacillus and/or brettanomyces to produce the sour flavors. In some of the very strong sour beers there is sometimes a vinegar-like flavor that comes though. That flavor is what I am reminded of when I detect that "funk" similar to apple cider vinegar. That flavor is delicious (when in balance) in beer, in juice I don't know, but it reminds me of tasty beer enough that I don't find it offensive, so maybe that's why I detect the funk less than you.

I would prefer if it wasn't there though obviously. I'd imagine our samples were the same mix (80/20 pg/vg and 12mg nic with zero shots) so I don't think the ratios would have caused a more pronounced or a more subdued flavor. It could just be different personal tastes and all that jazz too I guess.

It's odd because I've tasted a similar flavor in other apple juices. I think it was Madvape's Top Vapor apple pie or apple cider or something that tasted a bit like MBV's red apple as far as the funky taste (although red apple is far better overall and has far less of that funky flavor) It must be something in a certain flavoring agent that causes it, most all the apple juices I've tried (which is a lot, I was on an apple kick awhile ago) either taste like apple jolly ranchers or they taste like fresh apples but have some sort of little off flavor. Maybe fresh apple flavor is just impossible to translate into an extract or flavoring without producing some off flavors.

Something else I just thought of, apple cider vinegar is made from fermenting alcoholic apple cider (converts alcohol into acids) Maybe the apple flavoring used is an actual alcohol based extract or something, and there is a slight bit of fermentation that goes on and produces those acids. Or maybe they add the acids to mimic the flavor of apples. I don't know. I'm sure it's something acid related or alcohol related though ;)

as they say in the army.......mini tanks!!!! :D I'll let you know on the cookie...if it's anything like graham cracker, it may be good out of the box. I'll try it tonight.

The Strawberry and Pear will be good to go after a 24hr airing out. The Caramel Candy needs a few days to a week. I'm still waiting on the Pina Colada to become vapable after a month. I think it's just not for me. I haven't had the sugar cookie but have been considering it. I would love to hear what you think of it.

I have to say that SOA is my all time fave! It's the biker dude thing!!!

Love me some SOA, too. Can't wait for the new season.

And sorry, I have to disagree. The writing, casting and direction are the most perfect I've ever seen for a television show. BB is the best. ;)

Totally Lost
Just got some surprise Vapemail! I didn't want to say anything, because it's kinda embarrassing ....and I don't want anyone to think I'm gloating or rubbing it in, but I won a couple of contests on the forum. Nothing big, just some juice. Today the first one came...2 10ml bottles from Wicked Vapes. I chose peppermint and cotton candy...mainly for mixers. Ummmm.....maybe a good steep??? Right now...no taste or smell in either. I thought at least you may be able to smell the peppermint. Hey, it's free right?:) Not complaining AT ALL....The second one should be here tomorrow or Monday. I'm hoping it's better. I won a 30ml bottle of Halo juice...I chose the Tribeca...never had it...hope it's good....:)

My apologies if any found my earlier post offensive, that was not my intent. Now we can return to our regularly scheduled programming, our mad love for Mt Baker Vapor juice

I've been a bartender AND a flight attendant. You're going to have to do better than that to offend me.

it looks green to me!!

Only when I let my freak flag fly and channel my inner Jedi. Which, yeah...is actually a lot of the time come to think of it......

Seriously. I have never wanted to bed a biker so badly in all my life.

What...what?

*ahem* Oh hey, MBV juice is good stuff, btw.

It is likely that you will need to get some unflavored nic (available at MBV too) to dilute all that extra flavoring. I've never vaped a 5 flavor shot juice, so I could be wrong...but if they are still completely unvapable after a 2 week steep, you might want to consider diluting those down. :2c: On the other hand, you just might really like it :)

EDIT: To actually answer your original question, each flavor shot adds 2% more flavoring to your juice...so 5 flavor shots adds 10% flavoring to your juice which effectively doubles the amount of flavoring of the "original" formula. If sweetener is one of the ingredients of the flavoring, then you are also doubling the sweetener as well.

Thanks stoneface, your reply was very helpful :)
