Kelli - cute avy, an interesting change from the zombies and gore of the last few days.
In relation to the "haters", guess I am a vaping simpleton, since I like egos (ok, 1 have 1 vision spinner, but its not earth shattering), evods, and MBV. Been doing it almost a year, pretty damn successfully, if you ask me, and besides 1 other juice vendor (fluid vapor, a local place), I have tried a lot of others and been dissapointed.
If one is vaping for a length of time, and finds something they like, does it matter if it is simple? Sometimes simple is okay.

I agree! But the problem that I have is that I still like my vivi nova's n FT's wicks are silica (yucky 2 me).
so I been trying to learn the art of coiling to build new wicks....

Hell no it does not matter. I used the eGo for a looong time, but when I found the nirvana that is dripping, I immediately looked into how to tweak my RDAs to get what I wanted out of them. While the eGo did work for me, I relapsed into smoking so many times because of faulty clearos, burnt out coils, you name it. Since I have been building my own coils and dripping, my vaping has continued unabated. I get clouds, I get satisfaction, and my cravings and nostalgia for the simplicity of an analog are gone. And I'm down to 6mg and have a bunch of DIY at 4mg steeping.
Anyhow, yeah, if a Blu can keep you off analogs, and you're happy, vape that Blu. The point is, don't smoke. I see smokers now and I just feel for them. I know I hated being one for a very long time. Now I can happily say I am not one anymore. Hah, just got up about half an hour ago, coffee isn't kicking in. That was a far longer response than I intended.
Now to get down with some Praline Pecan DIY mixed with some DIY I call 'Soft Kona'. Mmmmmm.

sadly i don't think my issue is with the actual wrapping, its something else.. maybe the wick? not sure.they just taste icky.
Could very well be the silica. I know that I don't enjoy a new coil for at least a few hours if not a day or two. As they break in and lose the silica taste, they seem to both taste and perform better. SS mesh is the worst, and I honestly don't enjoy working with it. But anyway, give those coils some time to break in. You might find they lose the taste. If not, you might try ekowool or cotton and/or try another vendor for your silica.
I just got into rebuilding Evod heads, too, and have had the same problem with taste.
Wick does take some time to break in but also check your airhole, adjusting slightly can have a dramatic affect on TH/Flavor/Vapor.
Use cotton and no more icky taste. I rebuild my evods with 32g kanthal and cotton balls as my wick. The hardest part is figuring out the right amount of cotton consistently.

Yeah, a bit of guesswork added to the equation with cotton. I have used it in an MT3 I don't use anymore, and I did like how it vaped. I just have so much luck and experience with ekowool that I've yet to really give cotton a chance. I am going to build a dual coil on my IGO-W and am planning on doing something akin to the 'dragon' coils that user iTEO has posted about here. Basically microcoils set in a bed of cotton, with no wicking material in the center of the coils. Anyway, yeah, want to get into cotton, but just haven't had the time or reason to. This IGO-W I got last week is just sitting there, so why not, right?

yeah not quite sure what it is. its like a smokey, but not burnt taste. it just tastes funky. i should try cotton, just haven't had time to mess with them.
I see many of you mix different flavors. Can you do that right in the tank(aero, protank, etc.) and if so how do you get it to thoroughly mix?
I have tried many vendors and nobody measures up to MBV. All the different mixing options, prices, shipping and customer service is next to none.
I do still order cinnamon Danish from ec blends( it is outstanding), but the other flavors from them were not so good. However to each their own, for diversity is the spice of life.--Bo

i do it right in the tank. just do like a half and half, and then just invert the tank a bunch of times to mix it. works for me!
I do it in the tank the first time, adding (shaking n inverting) and tasting til I get what I like.
If I like it alot, I'll mix a 15ml. bottle of it.
I usually save the mixing for my puritanks (protank). I worry less about flooding n leakage w/these.
