Women LOVE to shop........men go into store, get what they need, and get out !!
Women, especially my wife, has to SEE everything in the store
Needless to say, I no longer accompany her on those excursions.......I do mine online for the most part

Don't lump all women in there. I hate to shop, I go in, get what I need, get out.
I love to shop online.

ME too.....I am NOT someone who walks the aisles.....I have a list even at the grocery store.....find it pay for it and get out.
Today is shopping for a family of 4 that I got their name from the relief office here in town. Every year I call them and get a family that is in need of help for Christmas, and then collect money from all our employees and go shop wrap and deliver. I have been doing it now every year for 18 yrs. I was very poor as a kid and I know what it feels like for Santa NOT to come.....and MY kids are very blessed with almost everything they NEED not WANT......so I go in search of kids who otherwise wouldn't have gifts. It's very rewarding and the BEST part of my Christmas.
And so on these days yes I walk the aisles cuz I get excited to think of what their faces are like with a certain doll or game or cool clothes. Guess I am a softy.

I grew up never having to do without. Although my folks wern't rich, we always had all we needed. Not so my wife, she tells me stories about her childhood that just make you feel so privileged not to have grown up like that. Christmas without anything except maybe pinto beans on the table.

Thank you for doing what you do, & a very Merry Christmas to you.

thanks guys....I really enjoy doing it....like I said it's the best part of my Christmas.

You have inspired me to go out and do the same. I know just the family :)

The best part of Christmas used to be watching the little ones open presents. Now, they, and all the grandkids are grown and something is missing :(

that is fantastic !!!!!!!!
I found that every city has a relief office and they have very good info on families needs. I always make sure their are little kids! cuz that's what it's all about? I would like for every child to have at least something from Santa! but there is only so much I can do. I raised almost $400 this year, so the kids will have a nice one for sure.... GOD forbid I ever win the lottery! what a shopping spree that would be !!!!

Shopping, especially for kids, is not something that I would be any good at. The Salvation Army in our area has a program that does that. So I try my best to give them all the financial help I can. Back before everything went plastic, we would throw all the coins we got into one of those big pickle jars that they had in movie theaters, then give it to them at Christmas. Some years it was pretty hard to lift that thing.
