A place some call paradise
So many juices, so little time. It seems everyday I read about another flavor I want to try.

Yeah this thread is a wallet crusher. I've been holding out on the cinnamon flavors (cinnamon roll and sticky bun) cause of whatever the issues were back in the day.

I did try reading up on the research and it all went over my head

I'm not a scientist, so this is just an opinion...but I think all of the cinnamon hype was nonsense. :2c:

Short synopsis of cinnamon report,
If you stick your head into a bottle of cinnamon flavoring ( not to be confused with ecig liquid ) & inhale the whole thing, you might have a problem. Cinnamon at vaping levels ( much, much lower ) was not looked at.

Course the nannies ain't figgered out that inhaleing a swimming pool full of water will hurt you too................bunch of ding bats.

Rant over scuse prease.:2c:

In a nutshell, what they did in that study was pour eliquids in a petri dish. In some cases, they poured pure flavorings in petri dishes. Not surprisingly, that kills cells! No vaping happened and no study of vapor. The person behind the study has been axegrinding with the vaping community for many years now, and was purposely trying to create panic... which she did. It's research fraud and research misconduct, but it sure as hell isn't science.

That study gave us absolutely no info relevant to "is it safe to vape cinnamon flavorings," because nothing was actually turned into vapor.

There's a study in its very early stages that *is* a sound study, and it appears to show that cinnamon-only flavors - the ones named things like "cinnamon" "red hots" or "atomic fireball" - could be marginally not-good-for-you, but still an order of magnitude safer than smoking. Even that study is too early along to draw any conclusions, and we have no data whatsoever on whether liquids that *contain* cinnamon flavorings, like Sticky Bun, Cinnamon Roll, apple fritter type liquids etc, are any more dangerous than any other non-cinnamon containing liquid.

So that's what we know right now, and what we don't know outweighs what we know by a significant margin.

You'll have to make your own risk assessment, but I can tell you that having read all the info out there, and speaking as one who "speaks science," I'm completely comfortable vaping flavors that *contain* cinnamon, but I've decided to stay away from straight cinnamon flavors. What I'm comfortable with might or might not be the same as what any other particular person is comfortable with, and that's okay.

Mainly, what I wanted to say is don't let the one study that caused all the panic be the *only* thing keeping you from trying those flavors, because that study wasn't a study, just sheer junk science... so if that's what freaked you out, don't worry. If you'd still rather avoid those flavors, that's fine too. :)

It only gets worse from here! I still have 40 flavors on my wish list that I have not tried yet, nor have I gotten any of the one on that list as someone mentions others in here and I had a tendency to grab those and haven't touched my wish list! These gals and guys will do that too ya!

My vapemail came today...wheeeeeeeeeee!

A day earlier than USPS ETA and a day later than what I paid for, I'll take it! Of course I'm being a good little girl and letting it breathe overnight at least. I already had it sitting in warm water (ECF went down for awhile for me, how about you all?) for a few hours, now it's open and on the shelf.

My build your own combo results are unclear. My green tea/vanilla/menthol smells like .... It's medicinal and black licorice-y and the juice itself is like a greenish black. Reluctant to put it in my tank. Pretty sure it's a colossal failure. What I should've done was read the reviews on green tea because they led me to decide I'm not even going to *attempt* to re-mix it, which is disappointing because I really wanted to believe I'd like it. I also had a really clever name for it, so, terribly sad. RIP Mad Hatter.

I made an orange/sweet cream combo I named "Creaming O". That one might be good if a little heavy on the sweet cream but that's okay because I LOVE sweet cream anyway. I use it in everything- coffee creamer, ice cream, stracaitella (sp?) gelato...I just love it and would probably vape it straight. Even a little orange will probably only make it better.

Cucumber mint, which I was looking forward to and is an MBV flavor, smells okay but not very cucumber-y. I've decided to let it steep.

Berry creamy smells like Imma luuuuuuuuuurve it and rainbow sherbet smells cream-your-pants amazing. Graham cracker was the freebie. All I can say, as I haven't tried it yet, is it DOES smell like a graham cracker.

I was so disappointed by my Mad Hatter failure that I went ahead and ordered 3 more to quell my grief  They were: white out, blue ice (I decided I needed some minty flavors) and orange dream bar cause I really want an authentic orange creamsicle flavor in the even Creaming O is mostly just cream. Next up will be solar flare and blue moo. And then the 5 million others I've shoved into my wishlist...including texas sweet tea. I LOVE sweet tea.

Then I got blind sided by mother-crazy (that's what I get for answering the phone) and for the first time in awhile, I let that troll get a reaction out of me. I consoled myself wiiiiiiith...MORE PURCHASES! Another tank, some replacement coil units and a carry case. Is it possible it's already time to clean and dry burn my coil unit for PTII mini? I get an occasional burnt taste now and I think it flooded a wee bit. I'll do that tomorrow and then stick some rainbow sherbet in there. I'm glad I rolled the dice and got it in a bigger bottle cause I can just tell I'm going to love it forever.

My night ended with dinner with the boyfriend (all you can eat wings and a garbage burger which is slaw, fries and a sunny-side up egg on burger- disgustingly awesome. Salads for me tomorrow as I can already feel my tummy screaming at me), savannah sweet tea mixed drink with it. Guys, I never drink. I'm very NOT sober right now and, as such, I am having a hard time catching up.

And that in a nutshell is the main problem with vaping right now. There is a lot that we just don't know. Unfortunately time is the only thing that will give us the info we need. The best we can do for now is read what is out there and make our own decision.

Yup, you said it very well. Fortunately, there are some scientists out there that see vaping as a valuable alternative to smoking and want to do their best to get us that information - Dr. Konstantinos Farsalinos is one, but he's not the only one. ecigarette-research.com is worth keeping an eye on, for anyone interested in the latest available information.

I try not to give categorical answers to questions like that, but in this case I'm happy to say that so far, *that* has been answered. Provided you're vaping actual e-liquid, and it hasn't been contaminated in some way by some freak accident... then *any* e-liquid you so choose is going to be less of a risk than smoking. That much, we do know for certain.

It would have to be really really really bad to be worse than ciggies.

I have that site bookmarked. It is nice to see we have someone in our corner.

I think I need to make a trip to philly for this.

Pittsburgh, dear. I'll hook you up.

Edit: You can really only eat it once every few months. Unless you want to harden those arteries right quick. We have an even better place out here called Primantis. Originally a truck stop so they put the fries on the sandwich so truckers could eat and drive. Now it's famous. Slaw and fries and whatever sandwich or burger contents your heart desires. I only go there about once every 4 months and then I yoga it out for a week afterward.
