Just wanted to add that with the Provari you get a one year warranty with the option to purchase a second year quite reasonably upon initial purchase. After the warranty is up, if anything goes wrong with it, you can send it in for repairs ala carte, also very reasonably. It's usually back to you in a week. Most folks don't need to use these, but it's very reassuring to know that it's there. For instance, say you drop it and the screen cracks. I think you can get it replaced for around $20 after your warranty is up. I've dropped mine a few times on a hard floor...tile over cement...with no issues whatsoever, outside of breaking a glass tank. It's tough as nails. There is a list of prices for most repairs on the site. The wattage is set and self adjusting if I'm not mistaken. I think it's top wattage is around 11. It has a built in ohms checker and is made in America if that matters to the OP. I think they're both great pieces of gear also and the OP would love either one, but wanted to add that info to the mix so the OP has all the facts. I probably sound like a fangirl. I am, but I also appreciate all of the cool mods out there. I'm looking at the MVP myself!!
Yeah, most people get confused on the wattage thing with the Provari. It doesn't read the wattage in the menu, but it's there, just self adjusting as I understand it. The site describes it in more detail. Now, I am outta here for real. I'm almost sick with exhaustion right now. night!
It's the same thing. If you adjust the voltage, the power (watts delivered) is changed. If you change the power, the voltage is changed.
I've been an amateur radio operator for a number of years & learned basic electronics in high school. When teaching someone Ohm's law (which is the vast majority of the first ham radio test), I explain it like a simple algebra equation, like:
2*X=Y.
Well if X is 1, then Y is 2. If X is 2, Y is 4. Simple enough, we just changed voltage & the watts also changed.
Now if Y is 6, then X is 3. If Y is 8, then X is 4. There we changed the power & the volts also changed. You can't change one without the other. Same applies to amps & resistance. They're all interlinked together, you just have to know the simple equation for each one.
I've always taught it as the triangle, though, leaving power (watts) out of it. That way the math is even easier.
If you want to figure out 1 of them, just look at where it is in relation to the other 2 in the circle (or triangle, as I draw it). For example, if you want to know ohms/resistance, cover the 'R' with your thumb, you see E over I. If you can multiply & divide, you can memorize Ohm's Law in less than a minute. If you want to know power (watts) all you really have to do is memorize 1 of the 4 ways to get there & if you don't have the 2 variables you need, you can go back to the triangle & get the 2 that you need for the watt calculation that you did memorize. Then they can just memorize the other 3, one at a time, as they need/want.
Anyways, that's always been the easiest & most successful way that I've found to teach it.
Oh btw one juice that I would recommend from hhv is blueberry muffin. Psarduo said it was pretty awesome and I have had others say it's really good.
For tobacco flavors, Dark Horse is my current favorite. Haven't tried the blueberry since I don't typically go for fruit/dessert flavors, but I'm putting in an order with them this coming week & I might have to sneak a bottle of it in there to give it a whirl.
is it too early for breakfast?
Never.
