Oz you keep talking about brewing and I will have to dust off my old gear and make a batch. Only about a 15 mile ride to my local brewstore.

The Session is the main show, Brew Strong is the geeky stuff, Dr. Homebrew is a new show where BJCP judges evaluate listeners beer, Brewing With Style is more focused on BJCP guidelines & there's a few others. Be aware, some of the shows are a bit like Howard Stern interviewing Stephen Hawking. You get some great interviews, awesome info, but they don't censor themselves. Not that it's a bad thing, but I wouldn't want someone to be caught off guard.

He's a cool dude. I was going to him anyways because he's a one man army (owner, only mechanic, honest) & only takes Subarus. It's just a bad idea to take a Subi to a general repair shop anyways.

One day we were talking & I found out that we were both licensed Ham radio guys with similar interests in gear. Then I found out he had tried to brew some Mr. Beer kits - so I loaned/traded some of my older gear, brought it over to his house & taught him how to brew. That's actually how I got my 2nd set of rims. We help each other out quite a bit. Even when I don't need work done on the car, I swing by his shop whenever I'm in the city just to BS for a bit.

That sounds like a pretty awesome exchange

Woke up super early today....its time to play beat the snow....got a ton of errands to run then I can relax and mix some juice, build some coils and watch some good movies while the rest of this city conquers the snow.

Gotcha. Some LHBS (Local HomeBrew Shop) can be good, some just dole out horrible advice because they don't know any better. There's 100x more of the latter than the former unfortunately. Definitely come check out the forum. If you mention my name... let's just say you'll get a slightly different welcome than if you just posted a 'howdy'.

Fortunately for me those guys know what they are doing. Everyone who works in his stores are brewers and know what is what. He started with one store back in the 70's before homebrewing was even legal. I haven't talked to him in years, I need to go see him.

Hopefully I didn't miss a good one.
It's 0546 here and I spent the night shivering in the rain because somebody had bad navigation. Now I'm waiting again but with a full cell phone battery! I'm sure if this doesn't move along I'm going to wind up ordering something I do t need.

Got another convert last night. I think he makes 4 for this trip. Number 5&6 are on the hook. You're welcome mbv. Still waiting on my commission...
