Not defending, per se, explaining. You asked, I replied. I don't feel bad, guilty or buyers' remorse about any of it. I don't care if it's a guitar or a bandsaw or vape gear, I like to buy once when it's possible - it's more expensive up front, but cheaper in the long run. Sometimes you have to cheap out in order to get yourself by until you can afford better stuff, but if you can afford it, do it.

I was spending $350/mo on cigs & not once did I go outside my monthly budget in buying this stuff. In fact if you just take the cost of each cig I didn't smoke, that stuff has already paid for itself.

Having raised 2 boys and 2 girls I can say this.

In my experience boys can get into an argument may or may not escalate into rolling around or swinging at each other and when it is over cool off and be grouped up in front of the game console or hunting frogs together like nothing ever happened.

With the girls, it may or may not have ever came to blows or wrestling, but that argument hung around for months if not longer. 10 years later they can still yell at each other over something that happened ages ago.

I love my kids.

That's my point exactly. My best friends are women (not "some of my best friends are," but "all of my friends, the ones I can actually depend on, are women - with one or two exceptions.")... but I will *not* get on their bad side, because they will *never* let me forget it!

No way. I've known too many little girls. Little girls are psychoanalyzing, vindictive creatures from the age of about 8 to 17. Trust me, I've lived with 'em, I've taught 'em... I'd rather be breaking up a fistfight between a bunch of boys than referee the psychological warfare that goes on at a slumber party. And I've done both. No contest which is easier.
