I think the USPS lost my last order. It was scheduled to arrive on the 17th and hasn't moved for almost a week. I usually get my MBV shipments in 2-3 days. I'm running out of juice, damnit!

Monday was a federal holiday, so that backed things up a bit. I wouldn't trust the 'tracking' either. It could've made it to Fort Worth, LA, back to Fort Worth, up to Minneapolis, Nashville & Tallahassee without an update. I'd bet you see it today or tomorrow.

But the upside is ....... when you finally get it, it will need less time in the steeple to age:2cool:

Good morning MBV friends :) I really don't feel like working today either. So I am sitting here at my desk talking to you all :)

Roonies, so very sorry to hear it's such a rough time for you, my heart really does break for you ((((hugs))) Please come vent whenever you need it.

Neither do I - but it's full steam ahead until 1, when I have a client show & tell...after that I'll join you on the Lazy Train. ;)

Full blown PHP sites are NOT wireframes. That sort of goes against the whole point of a wireframe. Jes sayin'.

It's an American white oak barrel with a medium char.

I'm assuming medium toast (char is for the bourbon barrels - huge difference, flavorwise). It'll be aggressive on that first batch for sure, especially with that tiny of a barrel. A couple batches in will probably taste pretty good though.

 at least if they like the wireframe, the PHP is done. I don't envy you, PHP is messy.

Good morning Khala. Be careful out there.

Hello Khala. :)

G'mornin', Amiaji and IRMs!

Taking a break from the project from hell.

I hate trying to build on an excruciatingly poorly thought out platform...
Ugh.

I would work from home but it's more work than just coming into work. If I work from home I am expected to be available from 8am until 9pm at night. :/

If only...PHP is in my wheelhouse, but....

They gave me the "wireframe". Our SAAS is an ASP application and the PHP is useless to me because all the ASP is already written. They need me for all the front-end stuff. It's like translating German that was translated from Farsi into English.

Not to mention stuff like designing a page's columns around fixed width entries like "123 Main St" ...guess what...in the real world street names vary a lot more than that and you didn't account for it in your design, so stop referring to your 'wireframe' as law!

Clients' in-house designers justifying their paychecks, IMO. It happens occasionally. :)

Yeah, there was a very good reason why I gave up web design, and this is it. lol.

Client: "I really want this color with this design and these features"

Me: "No you don't. It won't flow the way you want it to."

Client: "I really do."

Me: "Okay."

At some point later:

Client: "I don't like that color or the design."

Me: "Okay....."

Well it's lookin' like there won't be much catchin' up to do durin' quickie time...

Pre-quickie currently...

I like that. A pre quickie quickie. That would make your actual quickie supplemental. Not sure about that. Maybe we can have a meeting to outline the particular impacts of that, we would of course need a follow up meeting to allow team members a chance to give their thoughts before we schedule an actual planning meeting.

BTW, I just got out of a meeting where we were actually planning structured meetings to reduce the amount of meetings needed.

Yep, our meetings now have meetings.

Joy.

It has been kinda quiet so far today.

I don't do web design but I used to wire houses for a living. I have seen this same phenomenon many times when trying to advise homeowners on where to put switches and outlets. Then after the house is finished they want me to go back an add something I tried to tell them they needed to begin with. It is a lot more difficult, and more expensive, to add a switch after the fact than to put it in while the house is being built.
