Morning, all.

I don't want to move this to the social section. We answer a *lot* of questions over here. While I understand that the thread can get chatty, I hang here for TWO reasons - there's a ton of good info AND it's friendly.

This. If this thread had been in the social section, I never would have found it. I came to ask questions, stayed for the camaraderie, and enjoy answering others' questions when I can. My worry about us being moved to the social section is that we'll get less new traffic, which would eventually dwindle us *down* in number... that feels a little like punishment to me, all because some folks think the thread is *too long* (and let's be honest, that's the main thing they complain about - "I can't read 4k pages!"... well, I didn't either, I just jumped in. "I can't find what I need!" Well, post and ask. Not to keep banging the same drum, but this is *not* the only thread out there like this. It's not even the *longest* thread out there like this. That said, I'll be fine with whatever, just a little annoyed that the discussion is necessary on the basis of a few disgruntled folks who don't want to post here, but do want to complain we exist.)

I'm also still not sure that I get *that* much more flavor out of the vv3. It's definitely a smooth experience, and I'm sure I have a lot more experimenting to do.

For all you vv/vw folks, what wattage do you tend to favor? (Understanding that there are a million variables out there that impact choice. I'm just looking for starting points...)

It took me some tinkering. With tanks, I prefer to stick with voltage, which goes lower and thus keeps me from roasting all the dark/sweet juices I like. I keep those around 3.5/4.0v depending on the juice, and I prefer a 3.0 coil (or around there - I make my own now). With an RBA, it's an entirely different kettle of fish - I'm currently vaping some Dark Chocolate on a 1.3 coil at 10.5 watts and enjoying it immensely. If I tried anything close to that on any kind of tank, I'd have burnt nastiness within about two hits... which is why I used to say I didn't understand the appeal of high volts/wattage or of low res coils. I "get" it now - on RBAs it makes all the sense in the world. For me, with the juices I prefer and in my tanks (AROs and mini PTIIs, mostly), low volts/high resistance is better. I rarely go over 4.2 volts/6 watts in tanks. How I do it may be useful or entirely *useless* to you, but that's what I got. :)

I do not get the labeling our society/culture forces on people. We are all human regardless of our level of mobility or our limitations and everyone deserves respect and consideration as humans before all else. I do not use labels, I do not refrain from recognizing any one persons condition I just tend to not comment on or classify it. I got over getting angry when people use those galvanic words or classifications. Most times they are unaware of their true impact and the times that they are aware and use the words anyway those special individuals are not worth my time and effort in getting angry. No manner of :normalization: of these derogatory terms make them ok or acceptable in my opinion.

All the isms are too recent in our past to maintain any level of nonchalance when using these words. If you have not been right there with any of this or been directly effected by such you have no way to gauge is actual impact.

Just my two cents. :)

Fear, your daughter's school experience sounds similar to mine (except I was getting itinerate services for being disabled while being in the gifted program - and every day was a fight to stay there, not because I couldn't do the work but because it blew everyone's mind that a disabled kid could be academically gifted). But the bullying and the struggles, yep. Re: Labels, I get what you mean and I used to think the same way, but as I've gotten older I've come to terms with the fact that I will always be labeled by *others*, so I can either come to terms with that or I can continue to beat my head on a wall and get frustrated that the world won't do what I want it to. So I am vocal about my preferences - I'm "disabled," not "handicapped" or "crippled." I can call myself a "gimp" or "gimpy" but it'll hit me wrong if someone *not* disabled calls me those things. I also explain to people - patiently, still - that *my* preferred terms are not *the* preferred terms of all time forever and ever amen... I have a friend who prefers handicapped, so when I'm talking to her, I grit my teeth and say handicapped.

Would that we lived in a world without labels, and I appreciate people like you who try to avoid them where possible... but for those of us who are disabled, they *are* a fact of life, one that we can't get away from as much as state our preferences and move from there. Re: derogatory words, to me, there's a difference between a derogatory word becoming mainstream (which always makes me uncomfortable, and I choose not to participate) and a person who has had that word flung at them *reclaiming* that word. I fear even my skill with the written word will fail me here in explaining how *different* those things feel emotionally.

Calling myself a "gimp" is empowering because it's empowering to be flippant about my disability - it relaxes people, catches them off-guard in a good way, and it deposes the elephant in the room without another clinical, ghoulish, pat-on-the-head conversation about what I can and can't do. It quite literally *disarms* them. "Gimp" is how I put *myself* back in control of a conversation about *my* disability, instead of my being relegated to being a topic of conversation between ablebodied people ("What does he need?" "Is he okay with...?") Me calling myself a gimp says "HEY! I'm right here, and I can discuss my own abilities just fine thanks!" Me calling someone else a gimp would be derogatory, unless I know for *sure* that they're okay with it, as in, "hey, do you mind being referred to as a gimp, by a fellow disabled person?" "Not at all, I think it's funny." Only if that conversation takes place do I actually refer to that particular person that way, because I don't know what their baggage might be.

I'm not disagreeing with your point of view at all... just showing you the view from my side of the fence, which may or may not look anything like the view any other person with a disability has.

I'm sure they can't be all too terrible :O this is the internet of course. I'm looking into trying some mbv flavors and have been skimming through this board and the other all morning it seems.

Welcome, shakedown!

Instead of PM'ing this straight to Sean, I'll just post it in case anyone else wants to try it out

Thanks Oz, got it on my harddrive now. :D

what are your takes on the butterscotch? Anyone?

I like it, but mostly as a mixer. I prefer Sticky Bun or Vanilla Butternut in terms of straight, sweet vapes.

I just got the Graham Cracker and it's almost tasteless but I see potential there so I'll let it steep for a couple weeks. I have the Graham Cracker flavoring from Capella's and it's spot on. May add some of that if the steeping doesn't help.

Give it about two weeks to age ...... trust me Graham Cracker is NOT tasteless ... as a matter of fact I have a hard time vaping GC without a cup of coffee in my hand.

Actually, it's completely useful. We have pretty close taste in juice, it seems, so your opinion matters a great deal.

Got home a few minutes ago and pushed the wattage up on the yellow cake I have in the pt2 mini tank right now (2.2 pt2 coil that's reading between 1.9 and 2.0 on the vv, depending on when I check. It's better - I can taste it now. Flipping over to volts again for a bit.

Oh, I see why people hate us now :p

I have a reputation to uphold as the resident longwinded poster. :p

Hi Sean. Enjoy the brine. SN Pale Ale is good to use with it, but depending on what flavors you like, I could recommend lots of alternatives.

I'll give it a go as soon as funds allow, and enjoy it immensely, I'm sure.

I think I missed welcoming a few people who posted while I was typing - welcome, new folks!
