You didn't like the cinnamon roll and butterscotch?!! (to westhc)

I've tried a couple of orange creamsicle type of vapes... I love that ice cream in real life but almost every version I've tried in vape form just tastes disappointing. Not sure if my expectations are just unrealistic or what. I mean, it seems like a very basic flavor. Orange and vanilla ice cream or some form of vanilla or cream flavor. I never taste enough cream. I guess it always seems kinda boring to me??

I keep trying the Cinnamon Roll - I don't hate it but the "roll" part just seems too much for my taste - even after three weeks. I did add some Sweet Cream and that seems to help - somewhat like adding the icing. Perhaps a bit of vanilla as well. This is the first bakery flavor I have tried so I really can't say that I don't like the bakery flavors.

I loved Butterscotch when I first received it but I have since gone off it. I like it mixed with vanilla and cinnamon but not on its own. Maybe I'll try some with the Cinnamon Roll.

For those flavors where you don't taste enough cream perhaps try adding a cream juice or flavoring to adjust.

I am finding that adding Sweet Cream, cinnamon, or vanilla improves the taste of those flavors that I am not wild about. Also, for me, just about any fruit flavor that isn't just right can be added to Freckled Lemonade for a definite improvement. I still love Freckled Lemonade on its own as well.

The standard flavorings I keep are Sweet Cream, Lemonade, and Pink Lemonade - just a few drops can perk up a flavor. I will get some cinnamon and vanilla flavorings when the liquid I have runs out.

I ordered 6 different juices (dessert-type flavors) from Mt. Baker some while back & didn't care for most of them, thought I found Dutch Apple to be ok. Do all their juices need to steep awhile? I've found another vendor who recommends various steeping times for some of his juices, doesn't mention it for others. Being new at this, can anybody suggest a rule-of-thumb? MBV has a lot to offer, but I feel like I'm missing the boat here. Thanks for any advice.

here's Sean's steeping blog:

different flavors have different steeping times. added shots and pg/vg can effect steeping. you can always ask about specific combos

Steeping times for MBV vary by the juice and your taste. The same with other vendors.
I have found that most of the MBV fruit flavors are do not change much with steeping right out of the mail - my favorites Freckled Lemonade, Rainbow Sherbet, Orange Dream Bar (this just improves with time).
I did not like Sweet Cherry Bomb when I first received it. After a month I loved it. So when I reorder I make sure that I order early enough for it to steep before I need it.
The same with Vanilla Butternut.
With Butter Pecan, which is a favorite with many, improved with steeping but is still not to my taste.
Unless the flavor is something that I love right out of the mail - and I always have to try it then - I let it steep for a week and try again. Repeat as needed.
Many MBV flavor reviews comment on whether something is good right out the mail or if steeping is needed. However that varies by individual taste but may give you a clue. Some flavors will just not be to your taste even though others love them.
Oh how I wish I would know if I would love a flavor, find it so so, or hate it before I order it. But unfortunately that is not going to happen.

I'm right there with you. The good thing about MBV is their prices allow us more freedom to experiment with new flavors. I'm a lot less willing to roll the dice with vendors charging $15 -$20 a bottle.

cracked open my Rainbow Sherbet 50/50, 12mg of nic, 0 flavor shots, born on 01/02/14.

I like it ... don't love it, but I like it, great vapor, great TH, flavor just a little bit lacking.

I do believe I will love this one with a little bit of a kick up in the flavor department .... sooooooo question is;

without going all medieval and ordering 5 shots where should I go .... is one shot a noticeable difference .... should I go two ... three???

I'm not really looking for overwhelming in my face flavor .... but more than just a muted "hint" of flavor.

I order Rainbow Sherbet at 3 shots and love it - 65pg/35vg. I think at 3 shots that it is potent and really tart. For me more than 3 shots would be to strong even though I like stronger flavors.

There are few ways you can go to adjust the flavor to your taste.

You can order it at the same nic/pg/vg at 2 or 3 shots and mix the 2 together to see what flavor level works for you. That way you can approximately figure out the # of shots to order next time if you like it - equal parts 0 shots and 2 shots = reorder at 1 shot/ 1 part 0 shots and 2 parts 3 shots reorder at 2 shots / 2 parts 0 shots and 1 part 3 shots reorder at 1 shot. It can get a bit tricky if the flavor you like doesn't come out to be equal parts or the average of the 2 isn't close an equal shot number. At least you have an idea of the # of shots that are closest to the flavor level you like. I think this is the easiest way to mix to determine # of reorder shots.

I also have a bottle of no nicotine at my pg/vg level that I use (rarely) to weaken a flavor if it is bit too strong for my taste. Because I use very little to cut a flavor there is a small lowering of nicotine but I don't notice it.

You can also order the Rainbow Sherbet flavoring and add just a drop at a time to see if that brings it up to the flavor you like. This way you can get the exact flavor you like but I have no idea how to figure out the number of shots for reorder. It is an inexpensive way to add flavor.

Also I find that Rainbow Sherbet does not change much with time so if you order at a different # of shots to mix I think you can try the mixing when you receive the new order and do not have to wait for a steep.

Not sure if this is of any help.

I get all of mine 50/50 with 1 flavor shot. That seems to be good for me. Since PG tends to carry flavor more, I figure that 1 flavor shot makes up for having less PG. That's the way I look at it anyways. Plus I like lots of vapor so 50/50 is perfect for me. I've had cotton candy with 1 flavor shot and I think next time I will get 2 with it. It was good and had a nice cotton candy flavor/scent on the exhale, but I think it could use just a little more flavor.

I also get 50/50 with +1 flavor shot

I've never tried big red. Dulce De Leche I need to try again. I haven't tried that one or a few others since they were new about 5 months ago. Both of the Moos, Butterscotch, Hawk Sauce, Orange Dream Bar, Extreme Soda, Fruity Juicy Gum, Sour Yum, Peanut Butter, and Morning Vape are some of my favorites. I probably forgot a bunch that I really like a lot but maybe Ill edit them in later.

Oops dang I can't believe I left out Cinnamon Roll and Sticky Bun. Both are great on their own and I like them even better mixed together.

PS- Add Root beer Float, and Strawberry Shortcake to that list.

For those who have tried :
Thug Juice
Spearmint gum

Should I stick with the default 80/20 or go down to 50/50? So far the other flavors I got from them were at 80/20. I just wanted to know if these two would taste ok at 50/50? Thanks in advance guys.

I have thug juice at 80/20 (no extra flavor shots), and for me its one of the very few flavors thats actually a bit overwhelming. I think you'll probably be fine at 50/50.
