Multimeter and first charge

Hey everyone. I just got done charging one of my batteries for the first time and checked it with my new multimeter. I got a reading of 4.24. I know it should read up to 4.22 optimally. My question is two fold. Is my battery overcharged? If it is, what should be done? I know 4.5 and over is not good. What can be done in that case?

You are fine. Just let it sit for 20-30 minutes before you use it.

I just got my AW IMR 18350 batteries and WF-188 charger arrived.

charged fully and tested with my Mastercraft Multimeter.... it reads 7.4!!
what the hell... waited 30 minutes and tested and it gives me 7.6 consistently...
'whoa, super batteries!' I thought, and I left the multimeter on for 10 minutes. And when I went back at it the multimeter was dead.
I took out the 9v battery from it and put it on my tongue, and the Duracell battery was dead.
And then I noticed '2004' printed on the battery.
So I put a new battery and tested again, now it reads 4.20 everytime.
weird...

You are fine. Just let it sit for 20-30 minutes before you use it.

Why?
Just curious, because I charge mine overnight and put them straight into the Grand with no issue.

Because the batteries are most volatile when they first come off the charger. Since these came off a tad on the high side, letting them rest before putting them under load is a good precaution.
