Getting my first rba this weekend and was wondering if a multimeter was completely necasarry? I know when checking on the provari the reading could vary a little but to me that first really matter all that much.
Multimeter necessary for provari?

I have checked my ProVari against my Fluke 333 tru RMS meter (which I get calibrated annually) and it is spot on. You can count on accurate readings from that device. However, it will not read ohms below 0.8, so if you are going sub-ohms, you need a multimeter.
Thanks, definitely wasn't planning on going sub ohm Bc I didn't that provari would allow something like that. Irrelevant though I still won't be going subohm.
I bought a digital multimeter when I got my first rba, an AGA T2. Turns out that I never had to take it out of the box. I could do everything I needed with just the Provari.
The Provari checks the coil resistance under load, meaning it fires current to the coil and then measures it. Be sure when first testing a new coil that you turn the voltage down to the Provari's lowest setting.
Zen did an excellent tutor video on setting up a Genesis style RBA on a Provari. Study this well.

Seems like it's a super good atty for beginners and pros, also very cheap
