RE: recipes and reducing the flavor level, I don't understand how these high flavor recipes persist. 10-20% flavoring is too much except for tiny vapes. The flavor manufacturers themselves recommend as little as .5% and that can be plenty for total flavoring with a couple strong flavorings. 3% is about the max except natural extracts.

Taste is subjective and no one needs to "understand" another's flavor percentage other the person vaping the juice.

Reading through this thread and the other thread the OP made, I think the suggested paths are good.

If someone gets a bad reaction every time they visit their friends house (watery eyes, coughing, nausea, etc.) then they either must try to find out the culprit or stop visiting that house.

Mixing your own is my suggestion, adjusting pg/vg ratios, simple flavors, plus the assurance of no unwanted flavors or additives.

And I think all of our intentions are good; to help the OP. Everyone's addictions, habits and situations are unique. What can't work for you might be the perfect answer for someone else.

@steampoweredheart , another suggestion might be to stop vaping for a week or 10 days, and see if you can return after whatever has had a chance to (heal? go away?, rescind?)

I presume this is responding to me. My statement did allow some of the irritation of perplexity to come through but I don't want that to take over its content.

My point is not that diversity is bad, it's that the recipe sites I have looked at are not diverse, they're rather consistent with are IMO strong mixes, and the advice here is often lacking much between similar flavor levels and the unflavored advocates. The difference is not small, either. Certainly someone who has sensitivity problems should look into trying unflavored and subtle mixes. I can tell you that this is no disadvantage and it can be awesome to vape teasing flavors mixing with the flavor of the eliquid base. This calls for flavoring levels often below 1%. The lowest I have used is .02%. It's easy too, when using only a few drops of flavoring.

One thing you can try is simple dilution of eliquids with unflavored, e.g. 10-20%. If mixed and allowed to steep, the flavor becomes stronger. The flavors may not be ideal, admittedly my DIY flavor combinations would probably be harsh at full level, they certainly are to me. I keep dropping level. I also do make at least one higher strength juice, but for low power tight MTL only. It is excellent but only in that kind of setup.

There is actually quite a bit of diversity on many sites regarding flavor percentage. Trick is to find like minded mixers whose taste is close to your own. Some will never be able to taste low percentage with some brands and for others a drop is enough. Concrete statements simply don't apply.

@steampoweredheart - I have a quantity of all the supplies needed for doing DIY (the ingredients, new bottles, etc.). If you'd like, I'll gladly share enough supplies for you to experiment with, to help you find out if vaping will be something you can still do, if you DIY. If it turns out you can...then you can buy things you'll need from vendors, in the larger quantities. If it turns out that you can't continue, even with DIY...then you won't be out a bunch of $$ you might have spent already on supplies. I'm assuming you're located in the US. I don't know if it would be possible though if you're elsewhere. Please PM me if you're interested.

all branded/off the shelf juices seem to be affecting my health (tight chest, coughing, nausea, etc every single time I vape) lately.

Suggest you start with the basic/simple ego type set up (std. ohms).

Then vape your unflavored PG/VG with no nic and see if you still have a problem. No problem then add nic. If again no problem then add one flavor. By process of elimination you should be able to predict your this problem/"branded/off the shelf juices seem to be affecting my health". The the branded/off the shelf juices for the most part (all flavors are chemicals in the end) use the same flavors DIY'ers use.

I got an email from river supply updating their status on may 8. The email stated they are now taking orders but with limited staff, expect a 2-5 business day lead time on orders.
