MVP I Taste - SERIOUS malfunction!!

I've had my MVP Itaste for about 2 months. (its the black one with the blue Swarovski crystals on it, not that it makes a difference! lol) What happened was I threw it in my purse as I usually do. After 10 minutes, I hear this whistling sound.. Go outside to see my nautilus tank on top of the MVP is bubbling hot like a science experiment and the battery will NOT stop vaping! Will NOT shut off, will not stop heating up, so I try to remove the tank. It is so hot it actually burnt my hands and I had to get gloves just to remove the tank! I have no doubt that if the tank went dry, it would have exploded for sure! (I never vape it higher than 3.6) Took the battery to 3 different vape shops to see if they could figure it out, none of them could shut it down and they also had never seen anything like it or even heard of this in an MVP. It took 4 days to finally shut down the battery because it ran out of power (obviously I would not leave a tank on it) and I sent it back to Canvape where I purchased it from. No word yet when they are sending me out a replacement, but from what I understand, no one has ever heard of this happening before. What sucks even worse is that my BBZ10 cell was near the tank in my purse causing it to be completely ruined. Price of new MVP $70, price of new Cell $500, serious lesson learned, PRICELESS!! Always, always shut off your battery before throwing it into your pocket or purse just in case!

Mine was acting wonky last week...staying in the firing mode, until I unscrewed the clearo. I found that it only did it with that particular clearo on it. Once I swapped out the coil, it seemed to be fine. For safety's sake, I've taken it out of rotation for now, and put a new one in. I have pulled it out a few times and can't repeat the issue, unless I put that particular coil in it.

mine did the same thing last week...started firing on its own wouldnt stop til i unscrewed the tank - then once i got the tank off it wouldnt do anything but randomly screen would light up sayin 11watts (i never use it at the setting) until the battery died

Wow guy's that's pretty scarey. I've never heard of this happening with the mvp. I have one as well but don't use it as my daily vape. Luckily when I put it away to store it I shut it off. I did however have this happen to me with a ego type battery. I took it outside and put a bucket over it because I thought it might explode. It stayed on fireing for three days until it finally died....I'm so sorry this happened to you and really sorry it ruined your phone in the process! ! I supposed it just goes to show you, you can't get too comfortable because malfunctioning can happen with ANY battery! Thanks for sharing your story.

Carrying around a mod like the MVP is non-optimal, as you've seen. Just use some 400mAh eGo-C 'shorties' with Mega Dual Coil XL cartomizers and an Innokin U-Can for spare juice.

Also, BlackBerries suck, nobody uses them, anymore - take the occasion to get a real phone like an iPhone.

I'm sorry, I can't resist even though this is a very serious thread that shouldn't be made light of....

now----you had an EGO battery that fired for 3 days before dying??? where did you GET IT. I can't get any of mine to last more than a day.

Without a topper those batteries will last a long time if the only thing that is using juice is the little led for the button.

My first MVP went completely bonkers on me after only 2 days. I kept the topper off because it seemed to be randomly auto-firing for extended periods without even being touched. I sent it back to the vendor and they promptly shipped me another. I'm on day 3 with this one, so far so good.
