Depends on where your air hole is .Dont have it sitting all the way down or you will cause a short. You want it to sit so its right in line with air hole . Im going to wrap new coil if I can will post pic like others have to help you out :)

thanks!
i tried lifting it kinda high but then it didn't seem to wick in the IGO, how will it wick if it's not touching the juice at all? I guess i had it up too high though, it didn't work being right in the sauce either, so many particulars

i think i def had my cotton stuffed in there too tight

i have a mild headache now from trying, lol

I'm excited to check his coil video out, mine work extremely well, I have no problems and I have plenty of vapor production, but mine look sloppy in comparison...

CAM00260.jpg Here you go .Mine could be tad tighter but good enough .See it sits off bottom but not super high .When I wicked it I made sure cotton is not to tight and with mine I have one versy short tail by edge of atty and the other is very long and lays in the well.It can be nice and long and still wick well because its not choking inside the coil.

You will get it just takes little trial and error and you will be showing others what is up in no time :thumb:

I'll be posting a new video tomorrow to demonstrate how to make a micro coil just like this with no squeezing required.

It's the super_Mac micro and it's very easy to construct :)

Here are a few I banged out in just a few minutes no heating and squeezing required :)

When I grow up I want to learn how to roll coils like that.

Ima gonna stalk you till you release that video.1

well that's interesting Joka, your wrap is widely spaced and you have tons of cotton....i guess there's many ways to build then, does your method work better or worse or does it depend on the atty being used or...?

how many ohms is that?

1.5 ohms, and it smokes excellent, no hot spots or anything, but I do get the occasional pop onto my tongue

Vash's coil is so perfect...<_<

Learned how to wrap my micros from that crazy guy with the clothes line full of coils LOL Thanks Drifter !

lol!

I need to learn, I want a tighter coil, mine are always loose, I use 30g tho, I need some 28

so all i had was a little wire sample they gave me with my IGO, i have to get wire anyway so i guess 28g is the way to go then?

anyone try hemp or bamboo instead of cotton?

I just have regular cotton balls, not sterile or organic and i didn't boil them, is that ok? Seems to be a lot of varieties of opinion on that one
The guy at the store said that you should try not to touch the part that will be in your wick because oil from your hands will make it taste funky, but it's hard not to when you're trying to work with it

what is the taste difference between micro coils and non-micro?

I only use organic cotton balls.
I recently read of someone using hemp, and they said wash it out, dry it and its good as new, I haven't tried it yet, but will very soon

I also took out my long bunch of cotton, and replaced it with a small more loose piece of cotton, and it smokes perfect, no popping anymore, but not it seems 7 drops of juice is 7 minutes lol before with alot of cotton 7 drops was maybe 15 mins or so it held for awhile. Just a little info

I touch the wire all over never made a difference plus Im always firing few times before I wick it.

As far as cotton goes I boil mine because I feel I notice a difference but many others dont .Thats half the fun try different things and see what works best for you.Never tried bamboo or hemp but have used silica and for me cotton gives best taste and is super cheap :)

Yep, I agree, I learned how to wrap a micro-coil properly mainly because of SxD (and I bought a REO too)

Thank you for passing your knowledge on to the rest of us.

Taste is always subjective, but I've found with a micro-coil that I get a much fuller flavor than with a regular spaced coil. Theories I have read / came to include having more surface area to vaporize the juice and more wraps mean a hotter burn so the juice completely vaporizes - hence more flavor. At least that is how I think it works, but I am open to other suggestions.

As for what cotton to use, I am too laz...er...busy to boil my cotton. I use 100% natural organic Hydrogen peroxide bleached cotton balls from Walgreens. The first vape usually tastes a little cottony, but after that I get the full flavor of the juice with no cotton taste. I've seen some members post that they have had good results using (boiled) Peaches and Cream cotton yarn from Walmart and others say sterile cotton rolls from pharmacies work well for them.

Thanks for the props y'all :) glad I was able to help.

I have settled on 29 ga for the time being because it gives me my target resistance (ohms) with the amount of wraps I like to use.

This chart may help you decide which wire is right for you.

29 is MUCH easier to work with than 30 ga too.
