Hanging out in CA for now
I've been vapeing since July 10th & loving every minute without an analog. I decided early on that I wouldn't vape where I couldn't smoke (personal preference-no offence intended). We're fulltime RV'rs so I primarily vape in the truck or in/around the 5th wheel.

This past weekend we went to a huge (400 vendor) outdoor fleamarket and everywhere I looked there were people smoking. So I pulled out my eGo and proceeded to vape dripping away as needed.

A lot of folks stopped us (some smokers, some not) and asked me "is that one of those electronic cigarette thingy's"? So I gave them an explanation/education and wrote down the forum email address for those who were interested.

After the 10th person stopped us my hubby told me that he wanted me to vape in public more often. He said he liked me spending so much time talking cause I spent a lot less money.:blush:

Hi Norry,
A great story. Thanks for sharing. I don't vape too much out in public, but sometimes I sneak a quick puff in a store and get caught. The last time I got caught were by two young stocking clerks at my local health food store. They each wanted to know where to buy one, so I sent them to vaporjunction for the 49.95 Riva special. They were absolutely thrilled to think they could grab a few quick puffs while stocking in vacant aisles. Next time I go in there and the aisle smells like English Toffee or Waffle, I'll give them the thumbs up, LOL.

ECF has free business/link cards to pass out to others. Welcome to ECF, and happy vaping.

Great story Norry. U started Vaping the day after I did. LOL. I vape everywhere, even in my classes in college. I get lots of stares like I've gone nuts. It's a great opportunity to educate the ecig illiterate. Congrats on 2 months analogue free.

I'm a student too, working on a masters, but can't vape in class. Small classes of only ~12 students, I'd get caught for sure. We have 3 hr classes and get 2 breaks so I go outside with the smokers. 1 other student in my wed. class smokes and has a truck stop e-cig but said it tasted nasty and asked about my eGo. I happened to have 6 sampler bottles in my pocket so gave him my RedBull 5ml and a bit of RY4 to take home. I hope he's a convert, he's been smoking rollies.

That was really nice of you :) Sometimes the right juice or at least knowing that you have flavor choices and don't *have* to use the nasty prefilled carts can be the difference between giving up and finding vaping enjoyable enough to stick with it. I hope he converts :)

(and then converts others!) lol

That is a great story Norry, I am just getting comfortable with my ecig in public, I always sit in smoking sections to vape and last night at bingo I had 2 people ask me if they really helped, one was an old friend and when I told her I finally was able to give up my cigarettes she was amazed. It is good to be able to tell people about them, my doctor even was impressed the other day and said he wished he could prescribe them to his patients so I gave him a business card from a supplier and the address for ECF.

I've been vaping about a month; haven't been "brave" enough to vape in public yet; I know I should try it but just haven't. I would love to convert someone! I went to a friend's birthday party last night & went outside to the smoker's section to vape; I was the only one there. I've been trying to explain vaping to all my friends (none of them smoke) but so far they don't seem interested except one whose son smokes.

Thats awsome. Good for you. I dont know why but im still leary for public vaping. Even tho I know I should be able to vape in most places.. I dont want the confrontation of someone telling me I cant do that here... so I stick to places that you can smoke analogs too. .. ima wimp.

A good place to go if you're uneasy about it is a bathroom stall.

I try not to do it where there is no smoking. Just don't want the hassle from the uneducated or cause a problem and get some people to jump on the BAN wagon because of a misconception. At work I didn't use it in anyones view because I was in uniform (L.E.O) Recently I've been promoted to detective so I feel more comfortable in plain clothes to use it. (great in my office ;) ) I actually like to use it in the designated smoking areas to get interest and converts and draw interest at least until it gets cold out then it'll be inside somewhere. We have a no smoking policy in our vehicles, but I explained to my boss that it's water vapor and the worst smell you get is like an air freshener - He seemed happy that I was quitting smoking and said not to worry about getting into trouble and to keep off the analogs.

I vaped in front of the Orpheum theatre in SF after seeing 'Wicked'. At first, a few people looked at me with a frightened sort of look in their eyes. I think they thought it was a crack pipe or something, and the security guard started to walk over to see what was up. I put it into me coat pocket for a second and took it out again and vaped on it some more. Then people just looked sort of confused.

I don't usually vape in public places, I just want to avoid any possible confrontation, but I have popped into the bathroom once or twice to get my vape on.
