My advice to new vaper's.

If you try vaping and plan to stick with it DO Not do what I did. I spent alot of money gradually moving up in price on tanks and ended up buying about 5 that were all good quality and good vapes but I always wanted more flavor, alot of it has to do with me not being able to taste the juice by midday so I was always looking for a better hit and each payday I would buy a new tank, IMO it would be best to skip the in between steps and go straight to a rebuildable. I got my kayfun yesterday and don't think I will ever need another tank, I stayed away from rebuildables at first because I thought they were all drippers but this thing holds 4.1 ML in the tank, double the flavor of anything I have tried so now all that money I spent on tanks was basically wasted. I will keep my aspire nautilus as it is the best tank I have found that has replacable atomizers. I watched alot of video's on rebuilding kanger single coils and if you can get that tiny coil built and installed that will help your flavor alot and if you master that the rebuildables have way more space to work with. Just my 2 cents.

I'm going to disagree. Most newcomers start with either a cigalike or an Ego-type battery. They want simple. And not everyone moves up to RBAs. Many are perfectly happy with clearos or carto tanks.

RBAs take knowledge that newcomers just do not have. Batteries, ohm's law, etc. And I think one needs to try a bit of everything to see what works best for them.

I think tanks are great because they can be a gentle introduction to RBAs, if you decide to rebuild the heads to them. But if you just want to vape then they are budget-friendly and easy to change worn parts and flavours.

The reason you need simple as possible to begin with is because cigarettes are easy to use!

I don't consider the money i spent on tanks and equipment before now to be wasted, because you can give it away or resell it and help someone else on that journey away from cigarettes. I agree that i'd have spent less money if i had just bought the best (for me) RBA and device from the start, but i'd have lacked the knowledge to get any use from them.

Good advice!
I have 2 IClear 30's, a Nautilus Aspire, 2 Evod 2's, a Taifun GT, and one Optimus RDA.
Two more drippers on the way.
The Evods have been reliable and I still use them, the IClears - a total waste. The Nautilus is a bear since the coils are so unreliable.
But the Taifun is such a pleasure, as is the cheap Opimus dripper.

No need to be intimidated by coil building, Once you've watched a few YouTube tutorials, it becomes really easy. Done in 3 minutes and saves $$$'s.

Your road to rebuidables ressemble mine, and 1000's of others I guess. I am now back to clearomizers and tanks & cartos with my home made liquids. I never tried drippers as it is not compatible with my chain vaping habit.

I with all due respect, I differ from your recommendation to bypass this road through a shortcut to RDA. The time and money I have spent on testing the different vaping options has been rewarding and became a hobby of sort. I learn a lot about coils, batteries, liquids, mods and basic electricity.

But, after all this if I would have to pick only one vaping tool, it would be the V4L Zeus. This is the most trouble free and pleasant vape I have and the one, ( I have three of them), I use most of the time.

For the moment I am having fun with regulated Box mods : VTR, The Beast and The Groove 2.

It depends on how serious one is willing to take vaping I guess some people are fine with the pre made tanks and coils but I wasn't I yearned for more and I too like to op wish I skipped straight to rebuildables instead of buying tons of premade coils aerotank nautilus etc... they lasted me 2 weeks before I moved onto rebuildables :)

I think everybody's road to a perfect Vape is different. I have spent thousands on tons of mods, tanks etc... My favorite setups right now are my Provari/Russian 91%, eVic/Kayfun, Nemesis/Taifun GT, and Stingray/Fogger V4. I have over 2 dozen setups but those are the ones I keep filled with juice.

Some people start out with cigalikes and stay right there because that's fine for them. Others need more flavor and go on to a Kayfun or Russian. Some end up making it a hobby. I like flavor plus its a hobby too. I don't think its a one size fits all in vaping. We all have different needs. Some people don't want all the fuss of rebuilding, but for me, I enjoy it all. I love making my own juice too. I also buy juices too because I love trying new flavors. If I like it I will make my own version of it.

I agree about a Kayfun/Russian style RBAs giving the best flavor. Top notch.

I'm a 43 year old journeyman electrician. I understand batteries and ohm's law and all that other fun electricity stuff.

I'm also a very busy lady and I don't have time to sit down and rebuild anything. I'm lucky to remember to stick my egos on chargers which is why I currently have 8 VV's that I use personally and 8 cheapos that I keep charged for company. (No smoking here, buddy, grab a battery and pic a flavor if you need a nic fix)

Not everyone is interested in moving on to building their own coils and atty's and mods and ... yeah, that. I might eventually move to a VV/VW mod, but it won't be with a high maintenance clearo/atty/dripper that I have to actually sit down and pay attention to. I get annoyed when I have to change a coil. It also won't be a trial and error type thing, I'll hit up the boys at work to point me at a simple mod, batteries and charger and that will be that.

Yeah, this is a great hobby, and I am seriously going to attempt DIY juice so I can share cheaply, but I deal with enough wires and current and volts and ohms and watts on a daily basis, I have no desire to include it in my hobby. The high maintenance stuff isn't for everyone.

So...my story. I started with Tsunami batteries. I didn't know the tanks that came with it were disposable. 80.00 (I got taken but worth it) Got an MVP 2.0. 60.00. Twister 2. 55.00. Finally did some research. I got an Evic Supreme for 160.00 and this thing is awesome! I sold most of my old gear at a slight loss but went through the journey. Will this be my last VV/VW? yes. Will this be my last device? Heck no! What I am saying is, whatever works for you in order to kick the smokes...IT IS WORTH IT! But YMMV. :)

For me I spent about $100 for all my tanks and my MVP2(used) before I got to mech and RDAs. I used to spend $100 per month smoking so I stuck it out until I was even and then I bought my mech.. It gave me time to research exactly what I wanted. I I am super content with my purchase. Now I'm looking into a rebuild able tank and I've still got a few weeks till I'm under budget to decide which I want. I spend equal or less than what sm

I'm new here and relatively new to vaping but I completely agree with OP. If you are a do it yourself person like I am (I've built several desktops and several AR-15s) then building a coil and getting into RBAs/RDAs was a no brainer for me. Yesterday, I switched from an eGo and a Kanger protank to a Provari with the Russian and I love it.

I also agree with the replies. It depends on how much you want to invest, both time and money, and what type of person you are. Some people just don't want the fuss of having to build a coil and wick said coil (this was me yesterday afternoon after several terrible looking microcoils, lol).

Everyone has their own wants/needs in a vape and whatever that is for you is what you need to stick with, IMO.

I think as much as I enjoy vaping, I'm not handy at all and if it were too full of that fiddly stuff I detest I'd probably lapse. I'm already busy enough. I want a quick, easy, relatively inexpensive habit to sit back and relax with.

But some people really enjoy tinkering and stuff. If that's up your alley, then of course do what's enjoyable and best for you.

Having choices is a beautiful thing!
