I'm new too. I tried one of those cheap $10 e-cigs from a gas station that looks like a cigarette. It was better than I expected but buying carts were just as expensive as analogs. I bought a BluCigs starter kit and that lasted for a few months. I didn't like buying so many carts. It seemed like a waste so I found some youtube videos on refilling them. I did that for a bit and then found Johnson Creek Vea. I used them for about a year and quit analogs completely for about 9 months. Their quality has been going downhill ever since I started using them so I looked for other options. That's when I found this forum and all the choices out there for much cheaper than the Vea.
Fast forward to last week. I ordered a Vamo V5 and Aerotank from Fasttech. I saw some guys rebuilding the coils in the Kangers and that seemed much cheaper than buying coils all the time which is the issue I had with Vea's. Then after more research, I ordered a Kayfun 3.1 the next day after watching a few videos on rebuilding. Better than buying coils all the time with the Kanger. That's when I found out they shipped from China (I know, duh). I was running out of carts for my Vea and I found there's some local Vape shops so I went to one and bought an EHPro Kayfun Lite to use on my Vea batteries with 510 connectors. It cost more than from Fasttech but the guy at the shop helped me build the coil and wick as well as throw in 30ml of e-juice and 15% off my first purchase so it ended up being about the same as the Fasttech Kayfun but I had it NOW. It didn't do so well with the Vea battery so I found another shop I wanted to check out and bought an iTaste MVP v2.0. Definitely more expensive and no discounts but, again, I got it NOW. It's a much better experience with the Kayfun on the MVP over the Vea battery (eGo type). The best part is that I get consistent and much more vapor from this set up than I ever did with the Vea. I'm definitely hooked.
The MVP is a bit bulky so it'll be used mostly at home when the V5 comes. I really do like the Kayfun and even though I have another one coming, I'm thinking about getting a few more so I can load them with different e-juices and for backups so I don't HAVE to rebuild if one needs it. I haven't even opened the iClear tank that came with the MVP. The Kayfun is just amazing. Rebuilding is really easy if you're handy with tools. I've read and heard the coils can last a month or more and you only really need to replace the cotton every week or two. Something I was really curious about (maintenance). I don't mind doing it, just not daily or weekly. I already ordered Kanthal wire and organic cotton ($10 shipped for both) so I'm set for a few years.
Vaping and e-cigs all have a high initial cost but the on-going cost of rebuilding is way cheaper than Vea's and even tanks that you have to buy coils for (like Kanger). So now my only on-going cost is e-juice. That's what I really liked about Kayfuns.
Sorry to be so long winded and congrats if you made it this far down!
