My alma mater just banned e-cigs...

News today in my local community of Fort Wayne, Indiana, is that IPFW ( Indiana University Purdue University Fort Wayne) has banned all tobacco use on campus grounds and included e-cigs. Although I do not attend college any longer (thank God!) I am really upset that a place of 'higher learning' ignores factual, scientific information readily available and treats e-cigs the same as tobacco. If you feel as strongly as I do, I encourage you to read their official communication at:

IPFW Smoking Policy – Tobacco & Smoke-Free Campus | IPFW Comgrad

You can contact the chancellor by emailing Vicky L Carwein at chancellor@ipfw.edu

I am really hopeful that this ignorance is soon trumped by the evidence that continues to mount.

They are not the only ones. CUNY in NY (and in fact the entire city of NY) has similar policies. These 'places of higher learning' are not run by scientists or people who think scientifically. The administrations are essentially 'politicians'. First and foremost, their primary concern is to please the 'health' activists, and their agenda to define 'normal / socially acceptable' behavior.
