My Ashtray

It's only been a week or so since my last analog. While I already cleaned the car out, I though it was time to get rid of the last holdout of my smoking days. What more poignant reminder of quitting smoking than a clean ashtray?

I think it's some bottom to a candy dish that I started using over 5 years ago when we moved into the house. Just kept using it all this time. I'm sure there were plenty of others. This was the last one.

Tonight, with some scouring pads, salt, and a lot of elbow grease, I said goodbye. And I couldn't be happier. Sits on my desk now and reminds me that everything changes. Even me.

I have also been doing those sorts of things. Today was day 10 for me. I have put away all ashtrays, cleaned my car, and my teeth. NO TURNING BACK NOW!

Nice keep up the good word. I used to have a smoke on my way to school and back on my way home, and no matter how careful you are, ashes always end up flying everywhere. It's nice not having to worry about that anymore.
