Not trying to take any laurels for Boden's amazing discovery, just would like to see a special thread for this wick and how to's for it.
I am very excited about this wick. I only have one full wick and a small piece I clipped from it. So a AGA and a Vivi Nova. On the AGA 1.8 ohm Kanthal ribbon and on the Vivi 30g Kanthal 2ohm.

I like the added flavor from hemp so I added hemp to both.

Here is the AGA after 15 tanks on the BD13/ hemp combo. Looks gross but still putting out great vapor and flavor. I just decided to clean it again anyway.

Dirty hemp flavor wick. Not burnt.

Washed the 2mm hemp flavor wick and found all threads in good shape.

After cleaning with the steam wand it is ready to go again.

BJ - very nice. I dont think any ceramic wick user should underestimate that second post of having the wick close to the side of the tank. I have an AGA-t that was drillout out to 1/8 that I needed to score the side of the plastic tank to fit the wick. I also have a AGA T2 that did not need the score in the tank.

The AGA-t wicks better in a head to head comparison. I never really noticed this factor until you pointed it out. I was writing this off to variability in material or the set-up.

The BD13 stays hot for a long time. I found that out when I heated it on my gas stove to give it a cleaning when new and when I went to pick it up like I would with a mesh wick, it burnt my fingers. Here the BD13 continues to produce vapor for 7 seconds after I take the power off. I am now releasing the trigger and continuing to draw to clear the cap and reduce condensation. BTW this is at only 8 watts.

BJ, after cleaning, is the wick still black? Have you tried a torch cleaning? I think it was mentioned that we really can't expect it to go back to white, but.....

Yes it stays black after the steam cleaning, I have not tried torching and am not going to risk breaking my one and only..... I have no problem with black...:)

It has been another week of use and getting some crud.

Even with the crud it is still producing good vapor. Clic on pic for video.

Again after steam cleaning with the cappuccino wand. It is almost white, could of gotten it all white but did not want to risk popping the coil or thermal cracking the wick. I dry burn while steaming and the crud flies off. The wick seems to get better after every cleaning. Here it is cleaned with a new hemp flavor wick.

Great vapor production even at 7 watts. Clic on pic for video.

50 days on the same BD13/ribbon coil and still going strong. Every 10 days it gets a new hemp diaper and steam cleaned. This is my all day and gets many hours of use daily. At 1.8ohms and 14 watts I drain two 18650's daily. I only use Hangsen Ry1 100%VG 0nic on this and very little gunk even after 10 days,

Now 66 days on same BD13 and ribbon coil. This time I went 16 days between cleaning as I took it with me on vacation and did not have my steam cleaner with me.

Isn't it nice? I've been experiencing the same thing: almost 90 days on the same wick and coil on two devices. But I dry burn for cleaning, only once a week, every week. I think I may have forgotten how to do a proper coil by now
