Levitas, I can't agree with you more! keep in mind that this is the result of lots of different taste buds :) But I think your right and I said as much to eitano #7 in my mind needs cherry too.

I have to say, SloHand, that I think the work that you have done is great, and that you deserve all the praise anyone can give you.

BRAVO!!

Precise is precise.. Sloppy is sloppy. If, instead of making a 10 ml batch, you decide to make a 100ml batch, then .03 makes a measurable difference.
If someone gives you a recipe calling for 7.1% of something, then they mean 7.1% NOT 7%.
I'm not trying to be a jerk but if you want a repeatable result, then precision is called for. If repeatability is NOT important, then you can mix a batch with a drop of this and a dash of that plus a pinch of the other.
Call me ...., but every batch I make from a recipe contains the same ingredients.. within the margin of error of my measuring instruments.

Alrighty, dude. Allow me to fix my mistake, and show you how silly it is:

B&M - 0.6ml
CDS - 0.3ml
Almond - 0.3ml
Coconut - 0.1065ml
G. Cracker - 0.1065ml
Vinegar - 0.087ml

Now make sure you have your syringe that measures ten-thousandths, else you won't get that precision you seek.

Well, I don't know what it will taste like with the cherry. Alone, it's a damn fine recipe, and I don't want to risk adding the cherry when I could enjoy it as is first. I can easily see this as a replacement though. I'll post back when I add cherry to the recipe to give more feedback. Nice job.

BRAVO!!

I have to add my kudos to Slohand ...Great Job on this endeavor!

I mixed up a small batch of # 7, and though it's only been steeping for a few days, it's already proving to be an outstanding mix. Even if it doesn't duplicate Boba's perfectly (which I won't really know until it's steeped for at least a week), it's turning out to be the closest I think anyone has come yet.

Nice work! :toast:

Vinegar - 0.087ml ...not 0.09

Thanks, DUDE.. I was merely reporting an error, not trying to create a tempest in a teacup. You can look back in the thread and see the respect that I have shown you as a DIY Master.

I would state the recipe as percentage:
B&M -6%
CDS -3%
Almond -3%
Coconut - 1.065%
G. Cracker - 1.065%
Vinegar - .87%

Now I could make ANY quantity accurately

"Nuff said!

Why haven't people raised cash together and put some Bobas through TPA's GC/MS analysis?

Then we would all have the answer 100%.

That totally defeats the purpose IMO. The reward to who cracks this will be payment enough. Its kind of like lock picking that safe that is said to be un pickable.

Not to mention the difficulty in determining the actual source of the flavorings given GC-MS would only reveal their chemical composition. Then we would need the flavor/chemical Rosetta Stone :)

Exactly :)

It costs hundreds to have them analyze for specific ingredients in the compound (i.e. verification), but giving them a bottle and asking for an ingredient list isn't going to happen. If it were feasible, it would have been done (by me).

aalwani - I have been contacting DIYflavorshack about trying their VG-based tobacco flavorings, and they have told me that they were soon going to offer them without having to purchase the entire Shake 'n Mix kits.

From what I understand, long ago, Ben had talked to the proprietor of DIYflavorshack, and it was their advice that motivated Ben to start DIY, which of course led to Alien Visions being created et cetera.

Personally, I think Dawn (is her name?) gave more than just motivating pushes, I think she may of also given Ben advice on how to make his own NET's (naturally extracted tobaccos). With what little evidence is available, personal experience, and information gathered from others' experiences, I really believe that they are using some sort of NET in this blend.

The reasons being, 1. This blend is FAR too thin to be labeled as purely 100% VG (leads me to believe that he is using distilled water to thin the blend, or!, water based tobacco extracts) -> This is further feeding into my suspicions as being feasible due to Ben making mention that they use nearly 50% flavoring in their blend (if 25% is the water based tobacco extract, then that would account for why it isn't as thick as pure VG). 2. Ben makes mention that the blend cannot be offered without at least some nicotine (once again, direct point to a NET).

Now, what does this have to do with DIYflavorshack's VG based tobacco flavorings? Probably little, to nothing at all. I was just making mention that there are indeed tobacco flavorings that do not have PG, or alcohol in them.

someone gave me some bobas to try, and I have to admit it was very very good.

One thing I noticed though: Area 51 does NOT make bobas there is no mention of it at all on their site. Alien vapor does. Also EVERY single flavor he's got on the alien vapor site is a pot flavor. No exceptions. (This could also explain the previously mentioned "&h!t not in a box" issue). I might take a look at his other juices as well, and look for similarities. Also, if this guy is obsessed with pot flavors, there is literally no telling what is in there. One might even try smoking a whole bunch of bobas and then taking a drug test.

Pot plant breeding is actually a very heavily researched field. It;s just never published in peer reviewed journals. If this gu is heavily into the scene it's possible that someone trying to breed a beter tasting pot, had a variety that tasted great but didn't produce .... I could see, say hemp oil from that as a flavoring.

Oh man, where do begin?

Are you aware that there is a difference between Boba's Bounty on Alien Vapors, and Alien Visions? The Boba's this thread is dedicated to, is the one on Alien Visions, and is the original. Alien Vapors came along and stole the name from Alien Visions, and went ahead and trademarked the name as well (low life). They are two completely separate juices, from two completely separate companies.

If the above was misconstrued, then forget the next portion, but, hemp oil? Really? I don't even know how to respond to that. Is it a joke? Are you serious? Phew! That's a doozy.

You are correct. I had no idea. the fake is the top hit btw. also alien visions could happily sue the .......s panys off, and get him on criminal charges. an indictment at least, which would allow a search.

i get the feeling that if this guy gets actually looked into he'll go to prison for 3 or 4 unrelated things anyway. he'll have to turn over his business to the guy.

intellectual property laws have changed recently. it's no longrr first to file, it's original art. teal bobas will pound this guy into the dirt. especially if they sue in California. Over there patent trolls are up thete with molesters right now.

Okay my orders all carted up, going to try for a non-PG run. On the list:

LA Almond Natural
LA Cherry Natural
LA Creamy Caramel
LA Maple Natural
TFA Tobacco Absolute Blend ALC (Wizard Labs)
Vinegar

Before I pull the trigger, any suggestions or additional flavors you think a Boba's clone couldn't do without?

... originally from the French for hay bale. litterally a stuffed shirt, or straw man.

I chose it most carefully. Also the pic is a baby wombat who's nose is so large it looks like eyes making it look like some sort of yeti or something.
