Great thread; lots of good info/links! I'm very grateful we seem to have some really good chemist/scientist types around here :)

Quick question: which of the blueberry flavors have an issue? I see three on the TPA site:
Blueberry (Wild) Flavor (Artificial Flavors, Propylene Glycol, Water, Ethyl Alcohol) - a "new" flavor
Blueberry Candy Flavor (Artificial Flavor, Triacetin)
Blueberry Flavor Extra (Natural & Artificial Flavor, Propylene Glycol, Water)

Thanks!

Well, it should be Blueberry Candy. When I mix B. Candy, along with flavors such as Cherry Blossom and another one I can't recall off the top of my head, they all turn very cloudy. It doesn't happen in any other TPA flavors I have, whether alcohol based, water, or PG based. Triacetin is the only ingredient that comes into question as all the other ingredients seem to be tried and tested for many years already without any major issues. Maybe they are using some powerful chemicals in the flavor, such as D-limonene? I don't know, but I'm betting it's Triacetin, and therefore Blueberry Candy.

Crap... I just mixed up my frist batch of blueberry and... you guessed it... the one I picked up was blueberry candy. Absolutely delicious, but the cloudiness of the mixed juice was throwing me off. Found this thread and now I have a second reason not to vape it... dissolved plastic is not an ingredient I want in my juice.

Anybody have experience with TPA caramel? Not the caramel (original) or the caramel candy, the "new" caramel... the one that smells like concentrated vomit. I have it but dare not even use it because of its awful smell, but it has triacetin in it. Of course, it looks like the blueberry candy uses triacetin as the flavoring's carrier, while the caramel vomit uses it as an additive, with PG being the actual carrier. Ugh... just picked up the bottle to see the ingredients to confirm a PG carrier, and there must have been some of it squeezing out from under the cap... cuz now I can smell it on my fingers... time to go dunk my hands in a sink full of vinegar and baking soda.

Awww, man this is depressing. I was really looking forward to mixing up some blueberry crumble. Guess I'll have to wait til next month when my vaping budget is refreshed and I can place an order for some other blueberry flavoring.
