I got it, can't tell the difference. I have a real bottle here, everyone I let smell it says they can't tell the difference. The flavor is dead on. It may not be exactly what he uses but I can't tell the diff.
I made a 5 mill bottle.
24mg nic
100 vg
6 drops of black and mild flavor
2 drops of cotton candy
2 drops of coconut
Ok I tried the B&M(VZ) with Coconut(VZ) and I believe it is the missing flavor that we have been looking for.
I re-worked my recipe from the other thread with the B&M and Coconut from VZ and I think this is the closest match to boba's that I have tried so far. I can taste all the flavors in boba. I cannot find anything missing. I think we need to play with the percentages a little to dial it in. The following recipe is a little dry and needs a bit of sweetener.
I made a 5ml batch at 6mg 30pg/70vg
3% Cinnamon Danish(TPA)
3% Graham Cracker(TPA)
6% Black & Mild(VZ)
1% Coconut(VZ)
1% Mts vape Wizard(FA)
Agreed. When I got my first order of Boba's about 4 to 5 weeks ago, I speed steeped it in a Ultrasonic cleaner for 30mins and then let it sit for a week and a half before trying it. At first it tasted like cinnamon, graham cracker and coconut and I liked it. I started trying to clone it then and came up with a very good replica. Then somewhere between week 3 and 4 Bobba's changed. The Cinnamon and Grahm cracker and coconut faded and the raisin, chocolate and nut flavor came out of hiding.
My recipe seems to follow the same steeping pattern. It starts out cinnamon, Graham cracker with a hint of chocolate. After a few weeks the cinnamon and graham cracker start to fade, The hint of chocolate stays and a hint of raisin comes out.
I have tried changing the B&M from 2.5% through 10% at .5% increments with no luck. The chocolate notes get weeker or stronger with the differences in amount but not the raisin note. I am now hoping that one of the other flavors is combining with the Hazelnut to give the raisin flavor.
I tried the Rum Raisin SC from VZ and it tastes like welches grape juice. LOL.
Great thread! I'm inspired to try all the variations mentioned by everyone here.
I have a question about the type of delivery device and whether or not people are discerning these different taste notes at different voltages or ohms, resistence, wattages etc.?
I've been vaping VZ's B&M using a simple ego twist set at around 4.0 and I mixed up my batch using only 10 drops (from the original VZ dropper bottle) in 10 ml of my nic base. I don't think it tastes like chocolate milk LOL but I do get different tastes depending on whether I use a vision stardust clearo or just drip it in my LR 510 atty.
And I definitely notice better flavors with lower nic concentrations. It seems that when I use 18 - 24 mg nic the flavor drops are muted and I taste the nic, yet when I do only 6 - 10 mg nic I like the flavors better, but not getting the nic hit that I need. Anyone have this problem when DIYing? I can't seem to find a happy medium LOL.
Oh, and my 30 ml bottle of Boba's lost most of it's flavor after about 4 or 5 weeks.
