Perhaps I am in the wrong? I've personally never sought to purchase the stuff. I just read in this thread, and I thought I read something along the lines of a possible restriction in sales of TA?

Alas, I am far too lazy to go digging for the post(s). My apologies if my statement is incorrect.

No problem Levitas. TA may not have been regulated off the market, but the obvious sources (ECX, TFA, etc) for the tar-like concentrate have been out of stock for a long time. Someone posted that big tobacco is buying it all up..who knows. My understanding is that it's a simple extract from left-over tobacco. I wouldn't think it would be the rare commodity it seems to be.

I'll stand by my comment about our elected officials, even if it doesn't specifically apply in this case. We'll see what the FDA does for us (or to us) in October when they are expected to hand down their ecig rulings.

I know bobas can taste slightly different from batch to batch, but this seems way off.......hmmm.

I'm not getting the burnt caramel so much today but it's definitely "way off" and It's a lighter color than previous orders. I contacted him/her thru their web site but haven't heard back.

I got a few bottles of BB about a month ago. I don't notice a burnt caramel taste with the latest but it does seem lighter in color. Instead is seems like a mild version of the first bottle I got when they re-opened a while back. That one was to die for. The latest batch I got was more like to endure a paper-cut for. I'm disappointed.

I got a response back saying if I'd return this bottle they would send another. Since this and Day Break is my daily vape, I swap back & forth all day, do I want to be it without for 2 weeks or do I want to suffer thru it. Not sure yet but this batch is off the wall!

When did you get it? just got 100ml bottle today, and tastes nothing like the last two 30ml bottles I Had?

I've still got about 3ml of my old stuff left, won't last long, and this is on a freshly broke in coil/wick

As a note of interest, I was vaping some of my old Boba's in my little room, that I usually sit in, my door was closed so the clouds were pretty heavy, my Son walked in, and said it smelled just like Guiness. He has been wanting some ever since.

Unfortunately I've tried most of the recipes in this thread, and have not found the elusive flavors in any of them, I've got some Hooch on order (been a week since my card was charged) going to try that eventually when they get round to it. Was hoping for something to use as a replacment when the Boba's supply dries up! Unfortunately they don't seem any better at delivering the product :(

That was me. Ill recap. The convo I had with Linda at TPA she informed me that the FDA classified Tobacco Absolute (in its raw tar like form, or even in a solid form (it can be a solid mass too btw)) as a toxic substance. It wasnt banned but because of this it is more difficult to have it shipped. Some standard shippers wont deliver it anymore because of that classification. This is one way it becomes harder to obtain.

On top of that Linda said she believes that big tobacco is buying up all that they can in bulk. Seemingly to edge out other ejuice companies on supply. She explained that the amount of TA generally available is also tied directly to the tobacco harvest itself. Low harvest can also shorten the supply available.

Flavoring companies may be following the suit of TPA. According to Linda she is now using all TA pure coming in for the production of her PG and/or ALC TA based dilution.

If you know where to look however you can find TA pure but it takes a ton of digging.

So I did a experiment today. Im hoping some of you who are alot smarter than me will try this. I took a dixie cup, and filled it with cold water. Then I dripped about 20 drops of bobas in it. The bobas sunk right to the bottom. I swirled the water in the cup gently for about 10 seconds. I then carefully poured the water out of the cup, leaving behind a small amount of yellowish liquid. I put some on my finger, and placed it on my tongue, it was what i can best describe as sour.

Never tried bobba's bounty, but wanted to put a few observations out there.
People describe a nutty graham cracker taste, to me that sounds like Acetyl pyrazine, a graham cracker enhancer from TPA.
Also people describe a raisin flavour, which to me sounds like tobacco from the alcohol concentrate flavours. It has that raisiny smell, like a fresh pouch of tobacco, and tastes just like the smell to me.
People describing a chocolate undertone sounds to me like Mild 7 from the alcohol concentrate flavours.
On a final note, people using coconut, could either be coconut or TPA smooth, which to me smells and tastes like coconut.

Anyway, based on the above here is a recipe I came up with, that may or may not taste like Boba's , but tastes good all the same.

For 10mls
I use a 70/30 PG/VG mix so I add about 4 drops of ethyl maltol for extra sweetness and less dryness.

10 drops tobacco alcohol concentrate
2 drops mild seven alcohol concentrate
4 drops of coconut PFS
2 drops cinnamon roll FW
4 drops of Acetyl Pyrazine TPA

I've also tried it with no mild 7 and just adding the extra drops of tobacco,
it tastes good too.
Tried it with B&M instead of the other tobaccos at the same rate, and it also is nice.
Maybe even mixing B&M and tobacco might be something to try.

Sooo, I was doing some research today, and got to thinking about the vinegar angle in the various mixes that my fellow mixologists have been using.in their mixes. Well I pulled up a page on the (most widely used vinegars). Well of course you have your white, red, rice, and balsamic types, but the very last vinegar type listed was...........RAISIN VINEGAR!!! It is used in middle eastern cuisine all the time. AND....sometimes people will infuse it with a small amount of cinnamon. JUST SAYIN MY BROTHERS.....
