Just watched a boba's bounty review and he mentioned a tobac called Blue note , Now i've trawled all through this thread and can't find any mention of this blue note, Yet this guy picks up blue note, May be worth a try .

Blue Note is a blend of Virginia & mild Cavendish tobaccos, so that doesn't mean much...any Virginia/Cavendish extract would give you those flavor notes most likely....but it may be a clue.

I'm firmly convinced that one of the key ingredients is a tobacco extract of some type. I've been playing around with some PA Tobacco Absolute, and I think it MIGHT be one of the missing elements...it has a lot of the hallmarks of Bobas that seem to be missing in some of the recipes.....but Tobacco Absolute is some REALLY strong stuff, so working out dilutions of it are taking a bit of time. It looks like molasses (makes VG look thin in comparison), and has some fine particulate matter that some people have noted in Boba's.

Right now I've gotten down to two drops of TA per 5ml of VG as a substitute for Black Cigar, and I may still have to dilute it further, but I think this is getting closer to the Holy Grail... it has that certain "Something" that seems missing using Black & Mild or Black cigar. I like it a lot, I just have to figure out what the correct dilution factor needs to be, but it takes at least a week or two of steeping to really gauge how close it is, because, like Bobas, it keeps changing over the first few weeks.

Nevertheless...it's a nice vape.. (recipe #7 substituting TA dilution for Black & Mile Plus)

Blue Note Tobacco (Altadis and Dan).... SEARCH. In some of the reviews are descriptions of the flavor.

Interesting .... I've been pursuing Cavendish extracts .... 'Sweet Killarney' to be precise .... takes time for sure.

Question: Black & Mile Plus is out of stock from ecigexpres. I have a bottle here of Black Cigar from Vaping Zone. On the bottle it recommends using only 2.5% in recipes. Slohand's #7 clone I think call's for 6% of Black and Mile Plus (40% of 15% = 6%). Both flavors are highly concentrated, so say the websites. Will I be alright going ahead and using 6% Black Cigar flavor? I believe I saw another recipe on here using 6% Black Cigar also, maybe one of Eitano's first recipes. Thanks.

Watch this guy... he's onto it...

Namvet you may want to try TA in a 10ml dilution and if its not too strong its altogether possible that a bit of seedmans commercial concentrate might have been added to the dilution..

Ive said it long before.... Ive never had bobas but TA is the likeliest tobacco extract. Im glad you are finally trying it. Either way working with something like TA opens up new doors for new juices once you start getting familiar with it.

I would only use 3% of the VZ version. In my experience most of the ECX concentrates are watered down versions of the VZ ones. Ecx are about half the strength of VZ's. I have stopped shopping at ecx for this and other reasons.

So I just whipped up a batch of Slohand's #7 (using 3% VZ Black Cigar as recommended above, everything else the same) and all I can smell in it is the Lorann's almond oil, and it smells strong! Was it like this for anybody? Will the almond overpower everything else even after it ages for a week? Will let it sit with the cap off for a couple days.

Boba's Clone #7

Black Cigar (VZ) = 3%
Cinnamon Danish Swirl (CAP) = 3%
Almond oil (LA)= 3%
Coconut (CAP) = 1.065%
Graham Cracker (CAP) = 1.065%
Vinegar (white) = 0.87%

For strong flavorings like TFA Raisin and Caramel Cappiccino, I always mix one part flavoring to 3 parts PG (or VG or alcohol). I feel this makes it easier for me to add small quantities of a strong flavoring. I hope your Almond Oil really isn't oil!

which one is good and which one bad, Lorann Almond Oil or Almond Natural?

I really don't use either, so someone will have to answer this question.. I've just acquired some questions about the efficacy of using oils in vaping. It just seems a possibility that oils might effect the lungs. No scientific evidence either way from me. I hope someone else has a good answer.

I screwed up my lungs for 55 years smoking so I want to do as little future damage as possible.

From many of the recent reviews on BB from members who went through the mill to get some of this HYPE JUICE it appears that your clone has a better satisfaction rating. I gave up on all the hyped up lousy vendor juice and in only 2 1/2 weeks of diy (with a lot of prior reading) I havn't made a bad batch yet ! In fact I actually think my mixes from the suggested recipes with a little tweaking turned out better than anything I had bought.Keep up the good work and THANK YOU to everyone on here for their work.

I'm downing my very 1st 30ml of BB for the last couple days. Only a warm water steep thus far.

I'm convinced there is raisin or prune flavor in there. I haven't seen any mention in this thread as part of the recipe. This is a chameleon flavor in cooking. Also Dr. Pepper is a prune base & ppl drink it for a lifetime w/o knowing that.

My vote is for Raisin.... TFA Raisin in particular.

It says "Almond Flavor" on the bottle, one dram from LorAnn's. Thank you for the help, Glassmanoak. To Aalwani, I wouldn't buy the "Almond Oil Flavor" unless you want to dilute it yourself before using, but I think you might need to dilute it even more than what glassmanoak recommends. I read a post about LorAnn's "almond oil flavor" on ECF and the guy said all he did was dip the tip of a dropper into the almond flavor, the dipped that into his recipe and still all he could taste was the almond! I think the Almond Natural is what was intended in the original clone recipe #7.

Yes, I've added raisin to some of my clone bottles steeping as we speak....just be careful with amounts, raisin can be overpowering.

I dilute TFA Raisin 1 part TFA Raisin to 3 parts PG. Then, in a recipe, I use 0.5% to 1%. STRONG stuff. I think 10% even diluted would be lethal!

Speaking of TFA Carmel Cappaccino, that's the strongest flavor I've ever found... One drop in a 30 ml batch is too much. I diluted it down to 10% in VG and added a drop and I can still taste it.

Regarding this thread and a Boba's clone,

The TFA cinnamon Danish seems way to strong in all on the recipes I've tried here with that as an ingredient. The real Boba's has a very slight almost unnoticeable hint of cinnamon. I've come to the conclusion: I hate TFA cinnamon danish.

I had a baklava dessert the other day from a gyro place.. I thought of bobas... The honey flavor in bobas seems to me like what is really missing from these clones. Has anyone out there found a great honey flavor? And for breakfast I eat a lot of honey/peanut butter/cinnamon toast... Also think of Boba's

And also.. Boba's is really SWEET

I've only ever used EM and it seems too much of it mutes the overall flavor, and mine is alcohol based. How can I get a lot of sweetness mixed with a good tobacco? That's all Boba's is I think... Sweet honey sugary tobacco...slight hint of cinnamon/raisin something...very slight.

And I'm going to go ahead and say it:

This Black and Mild thing doesn't quite cut it. The original poster used it and it's stuck around here ever since. I think Virginia is closer, and I believe as many others here do that it's probably a NET they're making as a base. Even the Cigar flavor from VZ is a little closer than the Black and Mild thing. (Black Cigar VZ / Black and mile ECX). I've dabbled with the NET thing myself, but the flavor just doesn't seem to be there. Still working on it.

The sweetness is what I'm really missing I think. I think the right kind of sweetness will translate to a number of different tobaccos maybe. I hate fruity sweet and dessert type juices, but there's something about a real tobacco flavor with a hell of a lot of sweetness to it. That's what Boba's seems to be with me. YMMV :)

My next move is to try some different sweeteners. Any suggestions?

Just thinking out loud here. Still chasing the rabbit

I've got hundreds of dollars invested in the whole DIY thing, but I'm always buying BB to vape and try to beat, or at least make something I enjoy as much. No luck yet.

Try the PA Tobacco Absolute (in a 1-2 drops per 10ml dilution). Replace the B&M, Raisin, almond, cinnamon additions ...the TA gives you all these subtle notes (including the sweet honey flavor if you add a small amount of EM)...I'm not kidding.

Just my opinion, but the TA is the primary ingredient that gives Boba's most of its "chameleon" characteristics... by adding all these other flavorings, you are only hitting one particular flavor that pops up now and then in BB, but in mixing them all in, you are in fact muddying up the juice. None of the flavors come through cleanly at one point in time like the original.

I'm not saying that some of these recipes aren't outstanding in their own right (they are), but they are getting away from the basic FOUR INGREDIENTS in Boba's...keep that in mind.

Whatever...I've learned a tremendous amount about formulating DIY juices in this elusive quest, and have a bunch of outstanding juices that meet, or exceed anything I've tried from many professional juice venders .....except AV, but I think I'm getting much closer....

Have fun

The honey part is true. In one of my clone's I used Black Honey Tobacco Favouring from TPA as the tobacco base...the notes are there!
