i just received some bobas and gorilla juice and it taste almost nothing like it did the last time I ordered it. This batch of bobas seems to be lacking the graham cracker and honey notes and all I'm really getting is a raisin/prune flavor and smell with a touch of mustiness. The gorilla juice is severely lacking in the banana flavor. The last batch I got tasted great and it had a strong banana runts flavor to it. I'm so disappointed in what they sent me this time.

You must have gotten a fresh batch. You have to let it steep.... all AV juices take time to develop their characteristic flavors. Just take the tops off and put them in a dark place (not the refrigerator) for a day or two, re-cap, and then shake them thoroughly every few days to help speed up the process. Revisit them in a week or two... I can assure you that they will be better....and will continue to get better over time.

My first and only bottle of Bobas (bought in March of this year) was sweet and had the noticeable graham flavor only in its first two weeks. After that it had a more dry raisin like flavor. I preferred it fresh. Just throwing in my two cents.

That's my feeling as well. I have a bottle that is now a month old and I liked it better fresh. Although, it's still very good. Same with Gorilla Juice.

Namvet it right. The first bottle of ta pure is the one I still use and I bought it back in Feb 2012. Its still about half full and I use it in alot of vapes I make.

Nam, you do the same as I. One drop in 10ml didnt cut it for me. I use two usually also.

Have you given any thought as to what the other VG ingredients in bobas might be? Are the others used in slohand's #7 PG based flavorings? or are they alc?

I used PA flavorings for the Coconut, Graham Cracker, and Marshmallow...I think they are alcohol-based...if not, there's wouldn't be that much PG (or other carrier) in them to worry about.

I figure that AV's flavorings are alcohol-based as well - I think its still considered 100% VG because the alcohol is basically just a carrier for the flavors, and I think part of the steeping process is the alcohol evaporating and the flavors working their way into the VG. I think that's also what contributes to the "perfumy" flavor/smell of many fresh juices - the alcohol is still evaporating.

That's probably why it helps to leave the cap off of fresh juices for the first 24-48 hours after you get them, or running them through an ultrasonic cleaner - it speeds-up the evaporation process.

For the first time today I actually got the cotton candy flavor note from bobas. Dunno if this had anything to do with it but I left my dripping atty in my car while I was grocery shopping, when I got finished and took a puff there it was.... a cotton candy/brown sugar taste. I always thought it was weird how some recipes used cotton candy as an ingredient but now I understand why.

Recipe Idea 4 ingredients
Tbac Absolute
Graham Cracker
Brown sugar or maybe molasses?
Cotton Candy

I got the TA PG from TPA. Would that work? Alcohol cannot be shipped overseas that's why.

It should still work. TA is so strong, I don't think it matters what its diluted with. If you know what the percentage of the dilution is, it would help, but I always try to err on the side of using too little than too much.

Good luck

Makes sense. I simply use heat for my juices but I agree on the evaporation thoughts. Im gonna order bobas tomorrow so hopefully I can be more help on all this later this week. I have some thoughts on ingredients some have not used in this thread, or mentioned, but I want to wait till I have the real thing in hand.

Boba's is Vanilla Tobacco, Chocolate, and Butterscotch.

(I'm at work now so I don't have my recipe, it's tacked up in the shop. If anyone is interested, I'll post it when I get home tonight.)

I am not good at identifying flavors in eliquids. But since you mention it I can taste all of those in Boba's. I look forward to seeing your recipe.
