My Cobra 2 way radio mod

This is my first mod and I am very happy with the results. It was so easy!

One old Cobra Microtalk FRS120 2 way radio one 1/4" mono Panel-Mount Audio Jack from Radio Shack 1/4" mono Panel-Mount Audio Jack (2-Pack) - RadioShack.com

One RCA plug for the center (positive) pin

Loctite epoxy putty from Walmart

A switch from a very old IBM 300GL PC

Electrical tape! I only have one 810 WHITE atomizer, so I cover it with black tape for a better look... LOL (the rest of my rig is all 510...)

3 Energizer NiMh batteries. - I have plenty of them - and a charger.

It provides 4.2 volts fully charged. I know... it's not a 6V or 5V mod. But works great for me! Vaped the whole day yesterday and today at 2 PM still going strong... GREAT throat hit and vapor. I can't ask for more... (remember, it's my first one! )

The second radio of the 2 way set is waiting for a 510 connector (all my 510 batteries are working, so maybe in a few days or maybe weeks...?

Nothing wrong with 4.2v, most of us started at 3.6 or 3.7. Whatever works for you.

LOL, it depends... some channels are better for throat hit, others for vapor.

Probably nice to make a one 14500 battery mod but I don't know... the idea of vaping from a nose trimmer is not appealing to me.

I don't care what it WAS used for, just that it will work for vaping. Another idea hits the brain.

Thank you Warp. The Cobra radio was easy. My brother helped with the soldering because I am not good at all with the sodering iron... once I got the connector ready (the jack from RS) ... the epoxy made the rest!

I am always reading this modders forum. I like it! Your RCA system will be one of my future projects, for sure!

Damn those batteries! My first was a brass air fitting, some wire, a spring and a cordless phone batt pack. What I had to make a vape.
