Yeah It May Work (I Did Not Spec That Chip For You), But Please Note That Your E-Cig Atom Can Draw 1.0 A and You Are Quoting ".5A" For The Item You R Talking About, So You Should Work With That Information For The VR/ Resistor, An Other Words I Would Rather See You Use A 1.0 A Rated Part and Not .5A

There Are Several Threads On Voltage Dropping & Other VRs, Diodes, Resistors and The IN4001 Is Being Used A lot (Part # is Off The Top, I Think Thats It, Search The Shack For It).

Also The Lowering Of The Voltage Does Have Sacrifices, ie Runs Warmer, Waste's Power, Etc. So You Might Wanna Research It Some More. But having Said That, Their Is No Reason Not To Try Safe Things & Experiment Safely, Since It Appears Your Moddin Anyways. The Chips Are Inexpensive and You Can Run Them In Series As Well, But Not In Parallel!

Enjoy! :D

The specs I quoted are for the chip (79m05) that was recommended for the OP's application (two CR2's), not my own. Trust me, I am well read, I was pointing out that the suggestion was junk.

Rick,
As an alternative to the 6 volts, I have some Ultrafire LC 17670 protected batteries (1800 mAh) that are the same length as your 2 CR2's. Same diameter also.
They run at ~4.2v fully charged.
I think you would like the 4 volt results.
I run them in my UGLY cu pipe mod and they last a long time between charges.
Good looking rig you did BTW.

I think the design idea of your mod is one of the best I have seen in a long time. It is simple and looks like it is built to last. I really like the idea of having no buttons to push. Looks wise I am sure a lot of people will like it as is. I don't particularly like the color of the one on your video...but there are different color pipes out there. I can imagine that there are cheap flashlights out there that can be modified just as easily maybe even easier than the pipes you used. If you really wanted to go all out you can easily get a machining company to make you custom made parts so that it would look very professionally done. If you do a little more research and do it so it looks a little sleeker I can imagine you selling a crap load of these....of course at the right price.

Gonna give it some thought, thanks for your input.

May I have other people's thoughts on this please?

I'd have to try it, but I don't like the idea of a push on with my lips, too sensitive and It'd go off in your pocket, too hard and you're hurting your teeth/jaw/etc.

I like my buttons.

I'm using RN4081 attys, I like the shorter length (with the carts and all) and have had great success with them.
I'm redoing another unit now with improvements. For example, this one got stuck and burned the crap out of my fingers... TWICE!!
But guess what...the atty still works fine!!! And at 6 Volts!!! (It's a very used atty too)

I like this one! How are you powering it? I think I have that exact flashlight in my closet somewhere. How are you attaching the atty to housing. What's the wiring to the batteries/switch look like? I think the one I have uses 4 AAA batteries on a round battery "pack" thing that is placed into the hollow chamber and the head of the flashlight is screwed down...

I love the look.

I have been looking for something like this to replace my batteries.

Is it possible to get a full parts listing?

I was thinking about putting a switch on the back, as I wasn't too keep about a mouth switch.
Teeth are bad enough already.

Now I just need to figure out what connector to use for a vapor king cartomizer.

I've heard they are the same as the kr808, so I would appreciate if anyone has figured that out
