It is not necessary to vape to imbibe nicotine.
You can buy Vegetable Glycerine - pharmacy grade - at Walmart or any pharmacy
Add some nicotine - Wizard Labs is good quality and cheap

And then rub it into the inside of your arms or any other perfume point where the blood vessels are close to the surface.

If you choose to vape, I would suggest a nice evod starter kit

And some juice at the highest nicotine level possible, which on Fast Tech is 24 mg, which you can always thin down with the VG from any pharmacy.

Taste is very important ... you will need to buy a lot of different kinds of juice to find the ones that you enjoy the most.
I typically buy the nicotine juice at Fast Tech and then thin it down to 3mg with VG ... and use that as a flavor base to add concentrates to from Capellas or Mt Baker Vapor

The main reason I suggest these instead of cig a likes is cost and being able to dryburn the gunk off your atomizer coils so that you can use them for a very long time. Automatic batteries, which I also loved in the beginning, do not allow that. So you end up tossing away expensive disposable atomizers once they are gunked up, instead of cleaning and reusing and eventually rebuilding the heads if you so desire .

If you really like the cig a likes, then try to get verified so you can have access to the classifieds, where I hope to sell off all my cig a likes when I get verified, cheap.

Good Luck with your health

Whew! Overwhelmed with options! After spending days dithering from one vendor to another, I finally realized that I'd fallen prey to "analysis paralysis" -- so, I resolved that I was going to make my decision today, period.

My wife is now placing an order for "Joyetech eGo - 2 Complete eGos" from cignot.com, @$55 w/free shipping -- I upgraded to 1000mAh batteries (+$4.00/ea.) -- one manual, one automatic. It includes a USB charger, a wall-wart, five prefilled carts, a pouch, and instructions. It says they're 510 type, so hopefully that will make them more future-proofed than a less common (or proprietary) system.

Hopefully this is a decent deal... Fingers crossed.

I found a testimonial (in a post here) for White Cloud disposables, so, I ordered ten of their full-size in a variety of flavors. They were much better than the NJOYs, both in terms of flavor, and longevity, but I still ended up with a few duds. At this point, all I can say about White Cloud's customer service is that we did have to send back the defective ones, on our nickel. I'll be able to say more when I find out how they resolve this.

They emailed a tracking number two days ago; I just checked it, and according to USPS it's "Out for Delivery" so I guess it should be here today. Thus endeth my disposable life. ;)

I don't think I can post a photo yet, so here's a crude (very crude) bit of ASCII "art" that should give an idea of what I'm puffing on currently:

Hi again

Cignot is good peeps. Vicki has been a registered ECF vendor for ages. They only carry genuine Joyetech stuff. Nothing fake or knockoff there. I still have my original eGo batteries from Cignot kicking around and years later they still work.

It sounds like you got the basic kit, the one that comes with attys and cartridges. I can't knock that setup. That's what I started with, it got me quit, and it was all I used for my first nine months of vaping. But if/when you want to try a different delivery method - cartos or clearos etc. - as you noted it's industry standard 510/eGo threading. You're good.

From the techo/nerdy perspective: Take a look at the 510 connector on both of the batteries. You will notice on the auto battery the center post (the positive connection) has a hole right in the center. That's the point where air gets pulled across the auto sensor in order to make it function. That is also your point of concern with a 510 auto battery - the region you have to be careful of not getting liquid into the battery due to a flooding accident. It's not a bad idea to store an auto battery upside down when not in use - like in a heavy glass - to prevent any risk of that happening.

Financial trivia: At retirement age your SSDI just changes on paper to regular retirement benefits. Nothing changes about your benefit amount. For SSA purposes it only impacts what part of the pool the money gets drawn from. Other than that the disability determination reviews stop.

I wonder if it would be possible to stuff some cotton into the hole, and/or cobble in a flapper/checkvalve. USPS says the shipment is "expected" to arrive Monday, but it also shows it still sitting in the originating post office. When it gets here, it gets here, and I'll be able to take a look at the design and see if I can figure anything out.

Those auto sensors are pretty sensitive. If you put anything on the hole, it may impede the switch from working at all. Since it shouldn't damage the switch or battery, though, it may be worth a try.

I'm a Halo junkie, myself. I've yet to hear of anyone who bought a G6 kit (Halo's "cigalike") or Triton kit (their tank system) who weren't quite happy with Halo's products. There are MANY other brands and model types out there though, and having used only a few myself, there may be others that are even better than Halo. (Shhh...don't tell my fellow Halons I wrote that.)

The good news is that you won't find a nicer or more informed vaping community that right here at ECF. I'm still a newbie by far, and I learn a great deal every day from the true Master Jedi Vapers here. Even when I know everything there is to know about the world of vaping (if that ever happens), I'll still participate here to help others and just because it's a really nice place to converse with good people.

Welcome, S. Stover, and best wishes for you to find your PVS (Perfect Vaping Solution).

P.S. - I've known some people who had degenerative muscular disorders - one with Parkinson's, one with Huntington's chorea and two with M.S. - and my strongest sympathies are with you. I hope that the nicotine keeps helping to fend off your symptoms, and let's hope every day that medical science will provide a cure very soon.

(By the way, I'm an aspiring writer myself. And may I say that you write beautifully.)

S.Stover,

I'm a noob myself, and a bit of a tinkerer also. Just wanted to pass on my best wishes for a positive outcome when you visit the doc.

Also thought I would pass on that I was able to purchase some manual 510 threaded batteries that will fire my Greensmartliving cartomizers (I flush these out and refill them once the factory menthol is used up). I picked them up at ecigenergy.com (I hope it is ok to say the name on the forum - sorry if it is not) for $10 bucks each and one will generally get me through a workday.

I noticed you had ordered already, but thought I would pass this on as they don't break the bank and they appear to work ok in the week or so I have had them.

The package is supposed to arrive today, it's probably out in the mailbox now (too much snow and ice for my crutches to gain any purchase, and I don't feel like taking a fall at the moment; my wife should be home pretty soon, so hopefully I'll be set in a little while).

I've been wondering if I should order a tank kit. From what I've read, a tank will be more efficient, give better flavor, but, they leak, they have to be held in a horizontal position, and you can't just put one in your pocket and go -- they are "for-home" devices.

Are there tanks that can be used as easily as cartridges?

Hi and my belated welcome to you.:) I'm glad you found a good kit to use, and sounds like it will work for you. Hope it's waiting in the mailbox.

I'm still pretty new, but will share what has worked for me, and let me put down the cigarettes after smoking heavily for over 40 years. I started with ego batteries similar to what you will have. My kit came with Evod clearomizers, which I've found to work very well. They are inexpensive and easy to fill with juice. I get very good flavor and a decent amount of vapor from them.

There are people here who swear by using cartridges, and those like me, who really like the clearomizers/tanks. The Evods that I have don't leak when screwed on to my ego batteries, and don't need to be kept horizontal. You can certainly put them in your pocket. I'm female, and put them in my pocket or purse when I'm heading out.

I'm retired and on a fixed income, so cost is definitely a factor in my vaping. The Evod clearomizers can be found for $5 or $6 each, and the replacement heads/coils for them are about $6 for a pack of 5. You can use the Evods for quite a while before needing to change the heads. I usually take mine apart every week and soak the heads in water overnight, (some folks use vodka) dry thoroughly and then can use them for a while longer.

Here is a link to a reliable vendor I've ordered from who has the Evod clearomizers on sale for $4.99. If you use the code ECF at checkout you get 10% off your order.

You might want to get a couple and try them with your ego and see what you think. I find it's a reliable system for me.

Kanger MT3s @ VapingME.com - colors galore!

I've been learning to use these things, unfortunately I didn't see the slip packed with the invoice that said the factory coats the heaters with some kind of primer that has a foul taste, and gave suggestions on how to get rid of it quickly.

I can attest to the veracity of that statement. It's indeed a particularly foul taste.

After finally getting past that bit of fun, I discovered that the cartridges don't hold very much at all. I can tell when it's time to add more juice by the presence of another very foul taste. Who ever would have guessed that burning filler material would provide a nice big cloud? Thankfully I didn't inhale much of it.

My wife just ordered a couple of EVOD clearomizers and a five-pack of spare coils.

I have some more questions, and a few more observations I hope to post, but for now, I need to go try to rest. Having a run of bad bone days (my skeleton is sort of decomposing from osteoarthritis, one of my other "health" issues).
