I made a design based off of Maddogs design with a couple changes. First off, I didn't have the heart to rip apart a perfectly good battery... and I didn't have the patients to wait for it to die. So, for the connector, I used a coax cable splicer. The thread pattern is "close" enough to secure it to an 801 atomizer. I will post a pic to show you all what I am talking about.

well... im on day 3 of trying to make my magnum... aint it nice that madog makes it look so simple LOL

my soldering abilities are total crap, but thankfully soldering is what the wife does for a living, so hopefully she is going to fix my mistakes tommorrow at work. will let ya'll know how it goes once it's done.

query: has anybody done one of these and used the aaa batteries for any length of time? i'm planning on eventually ordering the cr2 batts, but atm i'm planning on using the aaa battery pack.

and a few more..

Looking to improve the side connection which is only a push fit at the moment. And may have a go at the 2x CR2 mod when I can source some along with a charger.

Nice mod. Is it modeled after this?:

:)Lol only kidding... Looks good though. I'm working on something similiar as soon as I have time to go to Radioshack.

Careful using that outside... It'll definitely attract attention.8-o

well.... my magnum is finally finished... after a few failed solderings and blowing out a led.. it finally works!!!

DEFINATELY needs the cr2 batts... the aaa battery pack with rechargeables works for a little bit but not nearly long enough. i cant speak for the screwdriver as i haven't tried one as it's a bit steep in price for me atm, but this bad boy ROCKS the vapors when charged, and for the "around" $20 investment well worth the time and trouble.

now all i need to do is grab the cr2 charger and 4 batts and i should be a vapin' mo-fo all the day long :)

Try to work up something soon - You are the only one so far to express interest.

HI MADOG, NICE NAME. FROM WHAT YOU MADE I UNDERSTAND WHY WE MUST CALL YOU THAT WAY.

I am interesting of how you made this device. Is this like trogs? I mean the atomizer needs 3,7 volts? And what mah is your battery?
And how did you secure the battery end to the torch? I have so many questions. Will you make a video to see the hole thing? thanks

I made a MAG too and got my batteries and charger from Dealextreme yesterday

HOLY SHARP SH*T is it powerful!!! I was using $1 disposable CR2, which worked well for an hour or two, but these are way better. And cheap too.

biggest prob im having is waiting on being able to get the cr2s and the fact that somehow i lodged the switch down...so when i power on the flashlight it's on. not really a HUGE bother as i still have another set of stuff to make another one anyways... prolly sell the first one cheaply to a friend and improve the second build.

the aaa battery pack works well actually.. just not very long at all... and rechargeables work better than dispos... i cant wait to get the cr2... about how long did it take for them to be delivered youfillintheblank?

I ordered on Jan 25, and the order kept displaying "waiting on supplier", could be because of chinese new year, so they didn't ship until Friday Feb 6, and I got them yesterday, the 12th. so 5 business days from ship date from Dealextreme itself. Not bad.
