Wonderful story, congratulations!
I keep wondering why I didn't learn about e-cigs until 2 weeks ago, and why this isn't a product known by so many smokers out there?
It could've saved me from years of chain smoking and feeling guilty about the health risks, I simply don't understand it and it makes me a bit angry.
I think doctors should know about it and suggest them instead of all the ..... they prescribe.
I'm just amazed at this newly discovered e-cig world and at how easy it's been to not touch an analog since the first moment I tried my e-cig.
I agree with the poster that said to take it easy because there's so much 'paraphernalia' out there that it's very tempting to go crazy buying lots of stuff.
I found a local supplier where I live (Miami) and I'm super happy that I won't have to wait for the supplies to arrive in the mail.
This morning I was out of juice and all my cartos were dry and I panicked at the thought of having to smoke a cigarette. I don't want to ever touch those things again, ever!

Thanks for sharing and good luck with everything, I think you're on the right track as we all are!
:)

The next day, I was on reddit and read an extensive post on vaping and the Ego-T. The poster was very specific about what to get and what to do with it. He said that he went straight from analogs to vaping and hasn't looked back. What??!? I thought e-cigs were some inneffective ploy from a chinese manufacturer with the only intent being to make money, not to save lives. I went straight to the links the poster suggested, which was cignot.com, and ordered what he suggested.

Don't you just love reddit? That's how I found out about e-cigs too. The thread I read had this site, and I did my research over night and ordered the next day! That site opens people up to so much more than the normal site.

Pion - <<<<<Hugs>>>> Glad to hear you've had such a turnaround! Depression sucked away 3 years of my life.
Stories like yours is why I keep coming back to this place. :)

And BIG props to your doctor! I've had three in the last six months that won't even discuss vaping with me. All three said I need to be on Chantix and patches. After having tons of drugs given to me and making things worse - I've refused to try anything else.

I love reading your story. I can relate to the depression. Unfortunately, I have it whether or not I intake nic. The nic helps me alot though. At least you had the guts to try. Me, too scared to fail. My daughter told me about ecigs a couple of years ago but I wouldn't do it...due to cost. PPPFFFFTTTT. At what I spent in cigs, I could have bought out the ecig factory. Just stubborness is why I didn't start then. Boy I wish I would have. Ecigs are the best invention since sliced bread.

Until e-cigs are approved by the FDA we may find many Dr's won't reccomend them. I am sooooo fortunate to work for a pulmonologist who has an open mind. Although he stipulates that I must tell patients that he doesn't endorse the e-cig, he DOES allow me to talk to them and demostrate and give out an index card with info and websites. That is HUGE! We see alot of smokers (with COPD, cancer, emphysema etc..) and most have tried to quit more than once. I know not all that I talk to will go home, log on and buy a kit- but some will and I am so thankful that I get to be a part of that.

Hi pion, Thanks so much for sharing your story. I know that for me also there is a direct correlation between smoking and mood. Every time I would quit smoking (dozens of times over 40 years) I would get depressed. It has now been over a year since I switched to e-cigarettes and not a moment of depression, in fact, I still feel like a smoker. My doc told me that nicotiene is really not any more harmful than caffeine. If I started to develop circulatory or heart problems then I might need to address it, but as long as the e-cigarettes were keeping me off the cigs don't worry about the nicotiene, use enough to keep myself comfortable.

Yes...Most doctors will like ecigs as an alternitive if they have done their homework. I heard of one doc selling them to patents to help them quite. Lots of benifits to ecigs. Nice post...and yes when they are long like this it can be hard to get people to read them, so you may want to keep them shorter to get more feedback. Nice thoughts though.

Whew. I told you it was long. If you made it this far, thanks for listening. And thanks to everyone here. Every last one of you. You were an important part of this, for me. And to that redittor who specifically pointed folks to cignot's ego-t, I cannot thank enough. Cignot's speed of delivery was also commendable. I ordered on a friday morning and had it Monday. Just in the nic of time.

Great post. Good for you and welcome.

pion, care to link to the reddit thread? thanks :) and nice read!

I wish I could. I wasn't in very good shape and not thinking clearly when I came across it. I focused on getting my order straight and following his directions, not thinking I might want to return to the thread. I had no clue what it was going to mean to me. I've looked deep for it but have had no luck finding it. I'd like to thank that poster personally, if I could.

I appreciate all the responses to my OP. I know what it's like to stumble across a long post, let alone actually read it. I really tried to keep things shorter but the words just kept coming.
