You can also put a couple drops in the hole on the battery end of the Atty. This acts as a primer and eliminates any burnt tastes.

I've heard the easiest way to prime these puppies is to take three or 4 draws without the battery on. Has anyone had luck with this. Also heard of people putting a couple drops inside the needle of the atty.

Sigh. OK... More detail is apparently needed.

People use/make bottom feeder mods that force juice up through the hole in the bottom of the atty. OK. You can feed an atty from the bottom. OK. This is done because the alternative is to have a hose on the side of the atty. However, every effort is made to seal the connection.

People do fill cartos with the "condom method" from the bottom too. Similar to the bottom feeder. However, this is a fill operation and not done ever 2 drops.

Now, you don't want to solve atty problems by unscrewing the atty, dripping 2 drops onto the bottom threads, and then wiping it clean, connecting it, then vaping 10 puffs. Then unscrew it, upside-down-drip 2 more drops, wipe, screw in, vape 10 puffs, repeat.....

1) Automatic batteries are not sealed and will fry when they get juice into them. Manual batteries are sealed.
2) Juice gunks up the threads too.
3) Juice at the atty connection is generally considered a problem, not a solution. Putting juice on an electrical connection is generally to be avoided, unless you are selling auto batteries and want to up your profits a bit ;)

If your atty is dry and getting a burnt taste, you probably have a wicking problem or a gunked atty. The solution to either of these 2 problems is not dripping upside down/backwards.

Clean out the atty. Direct drip (from the TOP) 2 or 3 drops. Vape a bit. Drip 2 or 3 more drops. Vape. Working OK? Wicking issue. Direct dripping (FROM THE TOP) will work for that atty if the wick has failed and cannot be cleaned. Still not working? Gunked coil. Try cleaning again... research it... do a search.

EDIT: Oh, eGo-T atty. Fill from top and/or adjust wick. Still not a good idea to drip backwards/upside down.

I've been vaping my Ego-T for about a month now. I get pretty good flavor, and aside from the occasional leak, I love it. If you are getting weak flavor/burnt taste from a NEW atty, which it seems you are, in my experience, it will go away after a few tanks. Just vape through a tank without inhaling it. It seems both attys I've used so far, started to taste much better and much more flavforful after a tank or two through them. YMMV, but I would recommend vaping through a tank, remove the tank, blow out the atty, put a fresh tank back in, 4-5 primer puffs without powering up, then vape away. It should get better in time

If you just got yours and they are new, you shouldn't need to mess with an alcohol soak and all that just yet. I do alcohol soak mine about once a week though. I'm still on the fence about dry burns though. I don't like the thought of possibly scorching the wick material if its laying on the coil.

Also, Before you used your attys the first time, did you blow all the primer out first? If not, then yes, you are going to be tasting a burnt nasty taste for quite some time. ALWAYS, blow the primer out of a new atty. Both of mine had at least 5 or 6 drops in them. Just blow it out before you use them.

Harshness usually means a starved atty. A starved atty will get much hotter and may burn juice on the coil. Once this happens a cleaning, usually in alcohol, is necessary to remove some of the burned crud on the atty. Until you do this, it's probably going to remain harsh and with little taste. Sometimes the crud is glazed on to the coil and cleaning may not restore it to its new state.

Attys aren't forever. At some point you have to just replace it. $18 every month or two for a new atty is still cheaper than buying a carton of analogs a week!
