Please veto Senate Bill 400
I have smoked for 28+ years, since I have had my electronic cigarettes, I have
been able to stop smoking all together. My health is so much better. My blood
preasure is down, I can breath so much easier now. Smoking was killing me, as it
slowly kills everyone who smokes. I had given up hope. I just happened on a link
about electronic cigarettes, and spent more than a week researching them. I am
poor, so I didn't want to spend my hard earned money on a waste of time, even
though I was spending even more on something that was killing me. I tell you it has
been the best thing I could have done for myself, and the people who care about
me. Sir you say you are for the people, please sir, protect your California family,
not the Big tobacco companies. They are dealers in death, who only care about
money. I am so thankfull I have this in my life. Everyday I wake up, and know I will
not be a slave to cigarettes. No more ashes, no more filthy ashtrays, no more
stinking of smoke, no more polluting the air around me, no more polluting period.
Everyday I use my electronic cigarettes alittle less. I know I will be able to walk
away from this as well. Please Governor Schwarzenegger, keep your promise to be
for the people, protect thier rights to live a healthier life, and give up the slavery to
smoking. How much money would your state save on medical exspences if more
people were able to quit like I have, like so many people have. There are so many
plus' to electronic cigarettes, and only bad for smoking. I could go on, and on
about how much better my life is, how much better the lives of the people I live
around are, but I know you are very busy. Please take the time to research for
yourself the benifits of electronic cigarettes. You are being given the chance to
influence a lot of people. All of the states look tward California as a progressive,
informed leader of the states. So much good has come from your hard work, and
the hard work of those before you. Here is yet another chance for California to
shine. Please don't let the money people behind Big tobacco companies steal the
freedom, and health of Californians.
Senate Bill 400 is designed to ban electronic cigarettes which are, according to all
preliminary studies performed by the Food and Drug Administration,and those in
different countries, a safer alternate to tobacco cigarettes. Placing a ban on them
now will force many users to go back to regular cigarettes at the expense of their
health, their loved ones health, and the health of those around them. Rather than
banning them at the request of Big Tobacco, we should embrace them, regulate
them, and help forward their acceptance for their positive health benefits. Bill 400
is not a wise step forward. This bill is being funded by interests other than the well
being of your people sir. Please don't let money win this one. There is too much at
stake. Thank you for your time Governor Schwarzenegger. We all hope you will do
