So last Friday, my stuff arrived from various vendors. Two Vision Spinners, Protank 2, Liquids, 306 atty and a few other bits and bobs.

Building up to the purchase, I was starting to have second thoughts on getting the Spinners. I was seeing all these gorgeous, advanced devices being mentioned on here and it got me thinking if I should go for something similar.

The Spinners are great. Very well built, and feel perfect in the hand. Thought they might look a bit out of shape with the Protank 2 on top, but it looks fine with the beauty ring attached :), I'm vaping at 3.8V with 1.8ohm heads, vapor production is good as is taste.

e-liquids;
Haven't had much time to try many yet, I have a few 10ml bottles steeping in my cupboard, and have only really given two menthols a good vape. I'm looking forward to trying Black Cat from Vape Escape, it smells amazing!

From Vape Escape, I received 3 5ml Samplers...
HS Menthol Sensation - Nice clean, refreshing menthol juice. Not as strong as some of the reviews were making it out to be, but still more than strong enough.

Virginia - Not too bad, I think it's meant to resemble the Golden Virginia tobacco.. I can't say it tasted much like GV at all really, but it's very smooth, nothing special though.

HS Delight - Couldn't really taste much TBH. Again it's quite smooth, but I found that it didn't really have a taste to it.. will try again in a couple of days.

The others I have received were just Menthols, just to keep me going without any Steeping for when I can give Black Cat a shot. My JJ order arrived this morning, again another Menthol, the peppermint and the Black Gold tobacco which is steeping in my cupboard.

So far I'm loving it. I've had about 6 cigs since around Saturday night, which is a massive improvement from 15-20 a day... I didn't think i'd find it this easy, and am getting more confident i'll be off the cigs very soon! :)

Take care all,
Vape on!
Mike.

keep it up, I was also a 15-20 a day smoker; I luckily managed to totally transition from regular cigarettes to vaping on 1 october for Stoptober and have not touched once since.

It gets so much easier, after only a month of vaping i can't imagine having a regular cigarette now, don't get me wrong I still sometimes walk past someone having a smoke and the smell is lovely but it does not make me want to go running to the nearest shop to buy some.

Do whatever works for you, I know someone that vapes everyday, but does have 1-2 cigarettes when they go out on the town, they used to smoke 20-30 a day.

good luck.

Well done! I made the switch back in April and after two days fags tasted yuk, lol. I had 2 ciggies in June when I lost my 'robo cig' as the kids call it, to tide me over til I got home to my spare and they put me off so much, the other 8 out of that 10 deck are sat in a kitchen cupboard hopefully never to be touched again!
I've managed to drop to 12mg nic over the last 2 weeks too and going great.
The spinners are good battery's, I upgraded to those and vivi novas after being on the egos and realising it was working, gave me much more satisfaction.
Keep up the good work and it's great that vaping's enabling you to smoke much less, you must feel good and you deserve to :D

I've had the spinner more or less from the start almost 5 months now and still use it alot even though i have other stuff.
It has a protank2 mini on at the moment.

Did they recommend steeping if not i would give it a whirl.
I had some smurfs blood from liberty flights and put it straight in and enjoyed.
I won't steep unless i have tried it and think it might improve.

I had my last cigarette at around this time last Monday, so one week today! Feeling good, there have been moments where I've wanted one but I've just chain vaped my way through those spells.

I'm going through around a tank and a half every 24 hours, is that about normal for someone who's just taken it on and giving up the smokes?

Also starting to look for something more advanced than my Spinners now, most likely either the MVP or SVD... any suggestions?

It depends how big the tank is ;) People vape different amounts, and some i have seen claim 20ml a day although i have my doubts about that, guess it is possible though. Personally, i use between 3ml - 7ml a day, seems to change a lot depending on what i am doing / mood, etc.

As for getting a mod, the SVD and MVP are both well thought of. Depends on your budget and how much you want to spend. I've had my evic a while now and it has never failed me, although i did notice straight away that i got a smoother vape on my provari and because of that an improvement in the taste of my liquids. Provaris are expensive though - you are looking at £170+ for a new one. I would recommend them, but there is no need to dive in and get one straight away as your first mod - there are lots of cheaper options out there that are fine too.

It's a protank 2 :p

And yeah a Provari is out of the question, for now anyway! I don't really want to spend more than £80ish, which shouldn't be a problem for either the MVP or SVD, I just can't decide :( MVP would be slightly cheaper...

Also need to get myself a dripping atomizer ASAP rather than waiting for this FT order with the Igo-L. As well as some wick and wire so I can kick start some rebuilding :D

I dont have a VAMO, but they seem like a really good cheaper alternative (you can get them for around £40 - £50 and loads of people use and recommend them.

Terry recommended this place to me for wire and wick - i got special bundle A for about £10, which contained loads of varieties of ekowool, silica, SS mesh, and different gauge wire. I cant see the special bundles on there now, but prices are good for the rest of the range anyway. I'm afraid i couldnt shed any light on which is better between the MVP / SVD - sometimes it just comes down to which you prefer the look of!

I gave my vamo to my Mum when I got my mini zmax and missed it within a week, I found out she wasn't using it so nicked it back off her last night. Really simple to use, takes all tanks I've had so far and 'touch wood' it's never broke when I've dropped it.

That mesh company are great - I've just had 50 metres of kanthal delivered this morning for little over £8 with postage - I'll try their mesh when I get fed up of cotton.

Hey Mike,

Its not the ciggies you smoke but all the ones you Havn`t smoked due to vaping!

I`ve just had this conversation with my partner who has just got back from the Canary Islands, she took what she thought was enough juice but ran out with two days to go, luckily I found a supplier on Gran Canaria via a Google search and she got through :)

Drinking, specially social drinking (pub/club etc) is the acid test! Don`t feel down because you "failed", you didn`t! You have succeded with the transition so far, a step back is not going to hurt and now you know how you react in different circumstance you can adapt and conquer:)

Mix yourself up some strong (36mg) tobacco based flavour and label it "Pub Juice" :) This will fore arm you that you may need to change your vaping habits when out and about, it primes the brain for a change.
Next time you go out load up with the "Pub Juice" and when you are kicked outside for a .../follow your mates or just feel the urge vape on this.
"Pub Juice" ;-) is not meant to be a great vape so don`t worry about that, it is purely a "get out of jail" card, your brain will suggest to you that this is special and made for a purpose so don`t get hung up if it`s not Triphammers latest mouth watering offering, it ain`t :) it`s a cigarette :)
When you get back after your night out then treat yourself (classic "reward therapy") to your favourite juice as far away in flavour from "Pub Juice" as you can just to reinforce the definition between the two.

If it`s any help... I`m 7 cans into a case of Tetleys this evening (don`t ask, it`s been a long and strange weekend!) and don`t fancy a roll-up at all! Just filling the room with vape from the Vamo :) and yes...it is a strong tobacco based mix. :)

Good luck.

I second Vaults words that it's the ones you haven't smoked that count!
Habits are hard to break - focus on the days you don't smoke, don't dwell on the ones you do have.
Eventually vaping will be second nature to you and the urge for a cig will become less.
Don't look at it as failure, look at it that even if you always have 1 or 2 fags now and again when getting beered up with your mates, it's a hell of a lot less than smoking 10 or 20 everyday, which is a great achievement :)
And hopefully as you adjust you won't want a ... even when drinking.
