Thank you very much - that is what I thought you were explaining! I shall try to get hold of the needles now. Queue funny looks from my pharmacist!

Thank you too bro for letting me use the forum as a platform...you guys are great here...friendly and not overtly patronising...Some of my comments got removed at e-cig.com forum( I did not know why but that was rude and very unpleasant...well, the spirit of communism still alive there..just gotta watch your step..Big Brother watching...sheesh  )

once again ..thanks for everything SJ...life without this forum(like yesterday when it crash) was sorely boring and tedious.. :D

An improved version of needle project using a larger bore needle size 21G 1/2 TW(0.8 x 38 mm) has proven to be far superior than the first needle project.

You need not the 38mm length..cut it down carefully the needle metal part to 15mm(get a wire cutter but cut it without damaging the bore/hollow ) and cut the usual plastic part so total length should be around 22mm...inserted it as before into the cartridge...

This time it is different....do let me know if you have tried it...I will try to post some pics if needed later.... ;) :)

Hi jimldk,
I want start by applauding you for your noble work in helping to get your patients off cigarettes and onto e-cigarettes.I also wish to thank you for your effort in making our e-smoking experience a pleasent one. I came across your needle project the other day, and after seeing some of your pictures I decided to give it a try. Unfortunatly (or perhaps now fortunately) I was unable to get any 25G needles. I did however have several 21G x 1 inch needles. After cutting the needle down to 16mm and removing 1/3 of the plastic end I inserted it into a new cartridge. I've now been using it for several hours and it has been working great. Thank you!

Mark

PS: I realize that your specialty is medicine but can you explain that despite the atomizer reaching temperatures high enough to vaporize the e-liquid it does not melt the plastic end of the needle? Thanks again and keep up the good work.

Thanks for trying..
:)
That was what worrying me when several of my patients shows me a burnt cartridge end and wool...so I decided to make/create a space like area where liquid itself acts as a physical contact 'Damper effect'....The needle are designed for high temperature resistance and if you notice the difference between the quality of needle plastic compared to your cartridge plastic, it is less flexible therefore thicker and less heat labile but still...time will tell..only my over enthusiastic patient will tell me... ;)

The 'space like area' actually help to cool down faster...let's say that's the "Breathing Space" for the Atomiser...

For those who find using the hard plastic mouthpiece tip hard on your jaw and teeth(which I suffered as well)..well, this is the best option I can get it done...This is Version 1... ;)
Test1.jpg

The normal non silicon tip is the Black Atomiser...The white one with a slip-on Silicone heat resistance cover..Sorry for all the teeth mark(just goes to show how much one can bite on it.. :p )

Test2.jpg

A closer look.....

And finally the cut section tip end.

I find it more pleasant to bite it and less stressful on the jaw as well as the teeth...... ;)

Dr. Jim: Would you believe great minds ... I've done what you illustrate, using rubber tips that are used on pipe stems after a smoker has chewed holes in the ends. But that's not what I had in mind with my squeezable cartridge post. I smoke the e-cigar mostly and want the section where the cartridge and fluid is contained to be flexible, squeezable. That way, when the atomizer needs a squirt of liquid, I could pinch the area outside the cartridge and inject some liquid forward onto the atomizer. Like squeezing a tube of toothpaste.

That requires more modification than any of us can do, I fear. When companies get around to new designs, I'm pretty sure they'll think of ways to inject or squirt liquid or gel onto the atomizer surface. For my e-cigar, I'd need the main tube itself -- housing the battery, atomizer and cartridge -- to be semi-rigid but squeezable. Surely, a plastic tube would be lighter, as well. This metal one is pretty heavy to hold by the teeth.

That's why this is version 1.....your version is already at the drawing board(so to speak..hehehe  )....it can give you controllable amount of liquid by squeezing it ...not easy but feasible...still looking for manufactured parts.... ;)

Thanks,

I have done that bro, still in testing stage,..earlier models were not flexible enough and problem with refilling the cartridge(good for half an hour ride..?liquids dehydrate faster than the rider I guess?  )..will post some pics when ready.. ;)

P.S.....you still ride bro?..I know melterx do ride... :p
