My first APV

EDIT: Very disheartening, this Vamo V5 is defective out of the box, now I'm screwed....

Finally got myself a VV/VW APV. Namely, a Vamo V5 from a very generous reddit user. I'm very exciting to take this next step in vaping. Unboxing pics are below, along with pics of what I USED to be using. The batteries are charging now, and the tanks are loaded with Belgian Blue from Vape Dudes and Cinnamon Roll from MBV. Gonna be a good friday!

Nice setup there! Now, don't go dissing those eGo minis I LOVE them for commuting or working in the yard. I picked up a bunch of those little buggers so I don't have to carry one of my VV3s or MVP2s between work and home (have one of each at both places - backups, backups, backups )

Just ordered a Vamo v5 myself this morning - can't wait to get my hands on it! But still digging my Vision Spinner 1300mah's I got with my starter kit.

Just ordered a V5 as well (only $20)!!! Right now switching between my MVP and VTR. I honestly think that the MVP is more convenient (no adapter needed) for switching between my iclear 16's.

And now it's not working, gives me inconsistent ohm readings on plain clearomizers and seems to turn off every time i try to fire it. Help!

What type batteries have you got in it? They should be unprotected.

Not sure what you mean by unprotected, I have these grey 18350's that came with the package, they say "Rechargeable ICR18350 Special Lithium Battery 3.7v 900mAh"

I charged both of them fully before using.

Are you using both at one time? Try the batteries each by themselves in the smaller setup. Is it new equip or used since you got it from another user. When you get it turned on hold the right button down and check the ohms on the clearo you are using? That could be bad.

From reading online it sounds like the batteries I am using are protected

If the batteries are protected they will cause the vamo to shut off since the vamo has internal protection. They sort of cancel each other out. Did you try those batteries separately? If they came with it they should work. Can you get it to stay on at all? Maybe try it without the topper.

1: Use the batteries 1 at a time; don't stack those batteries together at the same time unless you follow the stacked battery protocol.

2: You can check ohms by holding down the right button; check battery charge by holding down the left button

3: hold down the left button and first it will show battery charge, but continue holding it down and after about 10 seconds, if it comes up saying "Output MEAN", repeat the process, and it will come up saying "Output RMS".

Output is RMS. I went to my B&M and bought some fully charges 18350 Efest IMR batteries. The device will only turn on in 18650 mode, and shuts off randomly, and every time i press the fire button. I'm trying to change the o ring around the pin now

you are making conflicting statements.

make sure to put the battery in the right direction; it only works 1 way.
