My first DIY was vapable!

I finally got all my stuff in and mixed up 3 5ml batches! I used LorAnn flavorings and did a batch of pear, blackberry, and orange cream. I added a little EZ-sweet to each of them. I've only tried the pear, but it's actually tasty. I'm letting the others sit until tomorrow before I try them out.

I know others like the different flavor companies better, but I could get LorAnn locally so that's what I started with.

My cost per ml came out to ~$.18 and I can lower that to ~.09 if I buy the nic and flavorings in larger sizes/higher concentrations. I'm pretty happy about that.

Congratulations! Did you measure it in ml or drops? I started making up wintergreen and it worked too. I'm thinking that I'll still vape some premixed juice until I can match it or come close. This sure can save $ and let you dial in the flavor you want. Good luck!

Congrats on the first DIY. Happy vapes and it really is awesome to be able to make your own liquids. Soon you will have a nice collection of flavors since this is another addictive part of our vaping hobby and the juices you can make are only really limited by your imagination. I have found that on the smaller batches just go ahead and give them a taste right after you shake them up. I just do not have the will power to wait and have not noticed much change in flavor when waiting on the 3ml batches.

I did it in ml. All the years I worked in a lab makes me resistant to measuring in drops. LOL.

I am not certain of that flavor from Loran since that is one not in my arsenal of flavors. Check and make sure it does not have any citrus oil in it. If it does contain a true oil that will be the seperation you see. I would not use anything with an oil in it since it is killer on atty's/cartos. If not maybe just air bubbles

Yes, I checked the ingredients based on that big list up in the stickies and I had thought it would be okay (which is why I picked that one over straight orange). When it first looked weird I had second thoughts, but since it's started to clear I figured it would be okay. This was what the website has for it:

Kosher Certified.
Gluten Free & Sugar Free
Contains: Propylene Glycol, Artificial Flavor, Water, Polysorbate 80.
Soluble in water.
Appropriate for use in chocolates and coatings.

Since I'm pretty much a straight flavor kinda guy, I finally waded into DIY. Glad I did! I now have a great peach nicquid that's become a major vape for me. Gonna be trying to replace some more of my vendor fav flavs via DIY.

I think some folk might get in too deep too early by going for the combo flavs. For me, that will have to wait until I'm more comfortable with my 'experiments'.

Get ya some bases and flavs in 'jump' in. At less than 4$ for DIY 30 ml vs. $10-15 for a vendor e-juice... I can make a few mistakes and still kick ...!

I was tempted to do this, but I only have 1 dram of each flavoring, so I don't want to ruin 1/2 a dram on a flavor combo that sucks. What I figured I would do is find the single flavors I like and then make up larger batches, then start combining the final single flavor juices in various ratios.

Like I might make up 18 mg pear, 18 mg cheesecake, and 18 mg caramel, and then try combining them 1:1:1, or etc... That way I will only ruin a small amount if the combo doesn't work out right.

My first was a simple strawberry coconut and it was yummy too. Kind of gives you the confidence to proceed IMO

Congrats! My first DIY was Lorann's licorice. When I found that it vaped well and tasted great, it was like some sort of liberation. I made that, and it was EASY! In almost 2 years of vaping, I have bought very few vendor juices, mostly just things that look good at a vape fest. Maybe 6 juices total.

Start simple, one flavor, get to know it on its own, and you will soon be making great recipes. I'm working on a fresh strawberry pie now. Not a big fan of Lorann fruits...I find PA is better for those. But bavarian cream, cheesecake, english toffee, black walnut, and caramel are very good from Loranns.

Kudos for gettin' the mL thing, too! Drops when you use 100 mg nic juice can really be a problem.
