Well, I read the "read here first before posting" thread. Restrictive, but I understand. So, here is my first e-smoke experience, hoping I get a bit more unrestricted quickly.
It seems I can't post a url, so I've had to delete who I bought from...
Greetings My New Nicofriends!
Got my first e-cig Friday, today is Monday.
Must say, first impression is: I'm pleased.
I'm a total nicofreak, love the stuff, love smoking. Do not want to stop smoking, have tried many things including Chantix, which worked pretty well 'till I got the flu last January and stopped taking it. Keep in mind, I do not want to quit. I love smoking.
Found out about e-smokes on some gadget web site. Some guy in the comments said his brother is selling it and I impulsively bought from him at (censored) which is located in Kentucky, USA.
Didn't know it was more available in the USA (i.e. njoy, etc.)-- I'm happy with this guy though he is new... just ordered some more cartridges from him, and also the "Welcome to E-Smoke" kit from Johnson Creek. And, of course, I've been reading this forum (which is how I found out about Johnson Creek). Love the Smokin' Nun lady!
Anywho, this product, I suspect, will be a success, with lots of decorated models. Though it seemed so extremely light at first I already think I like it better than analogue smokes. (LOVE the sub-cultural lingo.) Yeah, there will be challenges to the legality, at least in the States (if you haven't noticed, we got some goofy people here--a minority to be sure, but noisy). But for now it seems good.
One thing is: I feel like a total junkie. It is so obvious we're only doing this for the nicotine and the "ritual" behaviors. I mean, who wants gum or patches?? I did the Chantix after my primary care physician responded to my request for a nico-Rx to get a compounding pharmacy to make me nico-lollipops. And now this shows up... the perfect nico-replacement! I'm glad they aren't marketing it as a quit device.
Everyone at work is fascinated, there are a few other smokers besides me, and I know one non-smoker has already told friends about it.
From exploring web sites it seems like the various companies all have the same packaging, just different branding. I'm guessing there are only one or two actual manufacturers. It seems I have a "mini". A bit larger than an analogue king-sized cig. Not a "pen-sized" unit.
I can see why people would have extra batteries and chargers. Today, my first day at work, it seems that a battery and cartridge last about half the day. I don't really like the "16 puffs a minute and then shut down" limit. I understand there are units that don't have this. I see myself buying an extra charger and batteries, larger units, and perhaps a USB charger for constant vaping while I'm home.
Well, anyway, I'm still just checking it out, but I'm also saying "About time!"
I dig it.
Glad to find the forum too.
