As I've posted here, I've been an advocate of vaping in public, not in a big cloud way, but in an ego style casual discreet way.

My GF's family is in town, we headed down to our local watering hole/restaurant. I've been vaping at the bar there for 2 years with no problem whatsoever, but because of the size of our party, we pretty much had to take a table in the restaurant, which we've never done before. About halfway through the apps and drinks, the waitress stopped by to tell us (me) that she has had 2 complaints and that vaping is not allowed. I was surprised, but I told her flat out that I was guilty and that it wouldn't be a problem.

No hard feelings from me, but it caught me by surprise. I'm pretty sure that the waitress said 2 complaints so I wouldn't try to identify a single complainer. Pretty sure it was the dude with his 7 year old son that was giving me the stink eye for the rest of our meal. Anyway, I complied without any trouble Moderated

Glad it had a happy ending LOL

I've been asked not to vape due to a complaint a couple times at a bar I frequent. The complainer is always anonymous and that bothers me. I think if someone wants me to change my behavior and experience reduced enjoyment while I am out eating or drinking then they should have the {i'll save the mods some work} to let me know who they are. Plus, I'd like to know if they were next to me or across the room (which is very possible),

Yeah, I think I could respect that alot more. I'd at least like to know the reason even if I wouldn't debate it. Does it stink? Do you fear for your son's health? Do you just not like to see someone enjoy themselves?

Isn't it funny how that always seems to only work one way.

The person vaping is NEVER the one who is at fault for reducing someone elses enjoyment while they are out eating and drinking. It's always the person who complains that is the problem. Why is that?

It's all about control. When you get that it all makes sense.

How about "I can't enjoy myself when your vapor and breath blow into my son's face. He's just a little kid and shouldn't be vaping, and shouldn't have to breath your vapor, especially without my permission."

At what point did you decide that vaping around someone elses 7 year old child without their parent's permission was acceptable? I mean, do you REALLY need someone to explain to you the problem here? Common sense should tell you exactly what you did wrong.

OK.

So who controls YOUR child and what YOUR child is exposed to?

You, or some guy you don't know who is sitting at another table? Are they in control of your child and what your child is exposed to?

If you're not willing to say that the guy at the other table is in control of your child then you had better rethink your position here. How's that for making sense?

Actually, the OP was just speculating as to who it might have been. Could have been someone on the far side of the room

I would avoid establishment that allow vaping while eating. I'd hate smelling raspberry (or God forbid caviar on bauget with a helping of sour cream) while I have a nice piece of mutton.

Yeah, I was sitting 2 feet across from his son blowing vape toxic waste directly into his poor little face. I never thought that I should be at least 25 feet away from him facing in the opposite direction and blowing it down into my lap.
I hope you've learnt it now.

Perhaps.

But probably not. It was probably the father of the 7 year old child sitting at the table nearby giving him the "stink eye" just like the OP thought.

And you're missing the bigger point here. You sit down at a table with someone elses child sitting nearby. You don't know them, you haven't asked for their permission to vape around their child. Is that EVER an appropriate time to break out the ecig and blow clouds?

Part of the concept of control is the ability to demonstrate self control.

I am a simple minded alien. I avoid bothering humans with clouds, smells and suspicious dealings with my mods. I am avoiding farting in public also (if I can).
Farting! There's the answer! So simple and it was right under our noses the whole time!

If someone in the room is offended by our vapor then we shall clear said room with gas.

Should work on every one but the bubble biters.

OP says he was discreetly vaping an eGo, no cloud comp
