Here is my fast story and I would like any comments so I can "know" if what I have done is normal?

When I started vaping I bought a whole pile of 10ml and 20ml tobacco juice samples trying to find something I would like. Many of these I did not like at all, so I sat them aside in case of emergency or whatever.

I got my first DIY order this week, which consisted of Nicotine and the makings for RY4 and Vanilla Custard, both of which I like.

Yesterday afternoon, I got one of the Hangsen tobaccos that I did not like (Vegas Blend--aka Lucky Strike), I simply added 15% Capella Vanilla Custard version 1 to it. I was just screwing around trying to make these bad tobaccos vape-able. All I did was shake it up. No steeping, nothing else.

It now tastes like the most delicious pumpkin pie in the world! I cannot stop chain vaping it! It tastes nothing of tobacco any longer, and nothing of custard really, maybe some vanilla. Mostly it just tastes like a slice of gourmet pumpkin pie. It is the best vape I have had in my career.

Is this normal in DIY? Two flavors make something totally different and delicious and unexpected? I am really amazed, this is way better than anything I ever paid for that was mixed by someone else.

Comments please.

You hit on a vape that works for you. This happens from time to time but DIY is work and takes hours of experimentation to really get to know what your doing. Your off to a good start now that you have something good to vape, you can now spend more time experimenting without the worry of needing to find something to vape right away. The biggest pit fall and why many people quit is because they've spent many hours, days and weeks trying to come up with something good and never do and call it quits. Once you hit on your first success it gives you the will to continue on.

Congratulations on your first success now keep going and pretty soon you will never think of buying retail again!

This was Actually what Got me into DIY in the First Place.

Buying Retail e-Liquids, finding that they Didn't Taste good or were Not Sweet enough, and the Buying DIY Flavors to "Fix" them.

So Yeah... I think it is Pretty Normal.

What might be Not Normal is getting a Slam Dunk Winner on your 1st try. But Lady Luck favors the Bold.

I've done that in the past with mixes that didn't come out quite right. Add a little of this to a little of that, and hope. I think I averaged about 50% that were ok to vape (but not something I'd make again). The rest got dumped.

Recently, I did it again with 2 mixes that were just ok by themselves and it turned out very good. Now the job is to dig through my "piling" system of recipes and see if I can replicate it.

Exactly how I got started but I found some Loranns flavors at a bargain store, changed a few commercial juices I already had and the rest is history, now I'm perfecting my all day tobacco vape and lovin every vape more and more.

I do not see anything unusual in your story.

I started DIY because I wanted a good tobacco flavor and all I could find was crap. That was many years ago. I've found some vendors that produce stuff that would have probably worked for me back then, but now my stuff is perfect for my tastes. That kinda' stuff happens when you keep trying, so I am not thinking of going back to buying premade.
