My first go with DRY4...

So...you guys had me worried that TFA would run out of RY4 Double Flavor so add another 4oz to the stash. LOL

@JL0187 - much thanks for your ideas. I've done the one drop AP thing but it's never been my intention to clone Tribeca but rather use RY4 Double Flavor as a base kinda mix for some experimentation. Halo has a new juice called Southern Classic which has a unique Madagascar Vanilla tone which is really the Bourbon and it's yummy. So I also orderd the Vanilla (Bourbon) from TFA and can't wait to experiment. If anyone has actually used the Vanilla/Bourbon/Madagascar in a mix I would love to learn more.

I tried the Southern Classic... wasn't too big of a fan, so I'm letting the freebie they sent steep... got a strong mediciney flavor from it... could have been the clove I picked up... as for the bourbon vanilla, I use it on occasion in my DRY4 base, actually... I tend to rotate each 30ml as to not get to burnt out on the flavor, so in 30ml #1 I'd add in the chocolate, 30ml #2 the vanilla (I've used both the bourbon Vanilla and the Vanilla Swirl) etc...

For a bit more bite on the vanilla variant, I use the bourbon vanilla (5%)
More smooth vanilla-y taste, I use the Van. Swirl (also at 5%)

I try to not go over 18% or so in a total on flavors, so since I use the DRY4 @ 12%, I just add my "mixer" to it at 5%... obviously, you might want to tweak for your won personal tastes.

With regards to the Southern Classic, I could see using the DRY4 as a base for it.... it was a mild tobacco, so you wouldn't want something as strong as say a 555... good luck on finding it Senior Boy!

Gotta add into the "a dash of AP makes this an almost dead ringer" crowd... I used to mix up a DRY4+AP mix (I think I started about the time Danny did on that stuff too... in fact I think it was Danny that got me hooked!), then I got some tribecca in a sampler. I just laughed since it was sooooo close. Gave the 'becca to my friend, and am still DIY'ing my own.

Simple Tribecca-esque base:

12% DRY4
6 drops AP (I generally mix it 30mls at a time)

I also do a few variants of course... really liking this base + 5% Double Chocolate (clear) TFA... I've also toyed with upping the AP a tad (1.5 drops per 5ml), come out with a very smooth nutty taste, damn close to a peanut butter cookie, actually. Wife even said that the stuff smelled like on of her PB cookies.

I placed and order yesterday and realized i included ry1 in the mix! I don't have hangsen vanilla. I have TFA vanilla swirl. Close enough?

Not trying to hijack the thread but was wondering some broad suggestions for mixing with these hangsen flavors. I just placed this order yesterday.

We seem to have similar tastes with flavored tobaccos. They are my favorite overall. There's something about the earthy tobacco flavor that never gets old and usually gets even better with some extras in the mix.

AP is not a sweetener. If anything, it's the opposite. It's fantastic stuff. Id gives a nutty, earthy note to whatever it's added to. It's potent stuff...I like it at 1 drop per 5mL.

I just whipped up some RY4, Peanut butter and graham cracker mixture to steep for a while. I'll need to try the base DRY4 recipe out. How long should I let it steep for?

On an unrelated note, does anyone have experience with some decent menthol mixes? I can vape just about anything that tastes fruity/rich n delicious, but my wife likes strictly minty/menthol stuff and i'm trying to be accommodating to her vaping needs.

I have a pre-mixed Menthol Liquid 10% PG Solution from Wiz Labs and Koolada 10% PG from TFA until it gets here. How much do you typically recommend adding of each Menthol and Koolada? Also, do you ever use a non menthol base like tobacco or anything to make it tastier? I know my wife tried Halo's Menthol Ice and Mystic Menthol and loved to vape those.

I just made my 1st DRY4 mix I have to agree with the majority here it is mighty tastey.

I did 10ml mix with

12% DRY4 in 50/50 blend @ 18mg nic also added 2 drops of AP

I am a very impatient person so I had to try a little after a hot water steep and i am very satisfied so far.

I have it stashed and will open it up again after a week and hope for the best.

I may up the percentage a bit but first impression is great.

There's really no substitute for straight AP. But you can try peanut butter although it will have a sweetness to it which may be undesirable in most mixes requiring a true nutty additive.

TIP: To dissolve, fill a container half way with VG or PG, then the other half with menthol crystals. Shake until dissolved. Heating the VG or PG first will speed up the process. Try starting out at 5% in your recipe of that solution that you made.

Menthol 5%
Koolada .5%

When I use Menthol it's usually one drop per 10ml

Much thanks for the tips. What Halo did is release Southern Classic prematurely. They failed to steep it properly so crack the seal and the strongest medicinal/cough medicine gag I have ever encountered. After proper steeping for about a week or in the UC for 4 hours it's reached about 80% and is a delightful smooth tobacco vape with dancing grown up zest and of course the marvelous vanilla bourbon. For me it's a great second flavor vape in the AM after I've had my Double RY4 fix.

Finally, this is one hell of a valuable thread so thanks to all. OP starts with a simple observation and we branch into some fantastic tips. Outstanding!

Hardware tell me about it. I have so much hardware I can supply an army. I found a sale on discontinued T3's and just bought 30 of them for $2.63ea. Because I rebuild them they will last me a life time.

I use the Hangsen Vanilla a lot.

FA Vanilla Tahiti is very different and the reviews say it goes very well with Tobacco's.


I smell Vanilla, Almonds, Coconut and some kind of Floral in it. I haven't been able to taste it because everyone takes whatever I make before I can try it.
