My first hardcore questioning by security

I'm going on a cruise in a month, and I'm really concerned about going through airport security with my Ego-C. I know that a lot of people say it's no problem but I guess I just don't want to have to deal with the "what if's". I'm also thinking that having to pack my juices and stuff are going to be a pain.

Not sure what I'm going to do, was thinking of going back to my Blu for the week since I don't think it will raise as many questions. Ugh!!!! I really don't feel like putting out the money for Blu cart's but I bought some 510's carts and filled and it's not the same.

As an event promoter myself, I can sympathize with the security.

You would be amazed at where we have found people attempting to sneak drugs in.

It wouldn't take much work to re-fill an e-juice bottle with something like GHB/....

I have been thru airport security a couple of times with my egos and epowers....not a problem. Just keep them in a plastic bag and do not try to hide them if you are carrying them on. If putting in checked luggage that is not a problem either...I have traveled both ways with them. These people seem to be familiar with them. They go thru the scanners with no incident. Since I am female, I had them in my purse in a plastic bag with juice....not a problem there either.

I was wondering that myself. Im going to a Rebelution and Soja concert tonight and was alittle worried about bringing my E-power. The last thing I would need would to have it taken by some stupid rent-a-cop that is on a power trip

Being a vaper myself, there's no way I would allow anyone to bring a bottle of e-juice into one of my shows. I allow e-cigs as long as they are disassembled and shown to not contain anything hiddin inside.

There is far too many types of liquid narcotics that can be put in an e-juice bottle and then sold inside one of my shows. I'm not going to jail over someone else being sneaky.

We're a tiny subsection of the general population so no matter how much we advocate for acceptance on here, there is still a pervasive unacceptance and ignorance. The way to more acceptance isn't through testing the boundaries of average people just trying to do the job their boss has told them to do.

I disagree. I think we should test the boundaries so that we can help to educate the general public. What better way for them to learn than to see someone who is proud of their accomplishment to quit smoking? If we don't test the boundaries the ignorant will stay ignorant.

I think this is a very worthy debate and am glad for threads like this. Usually I remain respectful of other's opinions and non-judgemental, but frankly your post/viewpoint annoys me. There is a difference between non-confrontational education/advocacy and putting decent people's job (and annoyance level) on the line to advance your personal mission. Let's also not forget the concertgoers in line behind you that have to wait for your personal PV Rights diatribe to end so they can get into the show. Furthermore as others have duly noted here, who is to say that you aren't bringing in a bottle of GHB or other illicit substance? Your word is good enough? So everyone at the concert should feel safe in knowing that every person that brings in a bottle of questionable liquid is as upright and honest as you are in the name of Vapor Rights?

Again, there are other more appropriate and effective methods to advocate for the cause.

Their is a real issue here and its not to do with vapers rights.
If you are in an enclosed area where security is a risk the rules that apply elsewhere are suspended to ensure your security. Yes the guards need to be informed of the possible things they might find on a search but things that can be used to disguise or are so similar in appearance to a dangerous or illegal substance must be questioned and banned if necessary. Just use an ego and some cartos for the short time your their. then everybody is happy. As to the issue being the use of ecigs where smoking is banned, well thats something that will take campaigning not confrontation at the gate.
Sometimes I wonder if we will ever get the risk benefit right.

I'm heading to a concert at House of Blues in Houston in a couple of weeks, and have converted from eGo to a Reo Grand...i'm a little concerned about getting in the door with it, so I may pack an eGo in my shoe just to get thru...one of my friends has promised to buy all of our drinks, so having no vaping equipment is NOT an option.

I was at the HOB Houston last night for ....... Gallows / Reverend Horton Heat / Reckless Kelly. I went right through security with 3 eGos sticking out of my front pocket. I vaped discreetly, but not "full stealth" in the venue and openly while I was chatting with security outside in the smoking area. Has your friend ever been to HOB ? 1 Jack and Coke and 1 shiner bock 12oz was something like $16 before tip. I recommend pre gaming at Dirt. Its right acoss the street and you can easily hang out until 5 minutes before the show and not miss anything.

I don't know what part of Conroe you're in but Tewbeleaux's on Rayford is vape friendly. They are non-smoking until 9pm but allow vaping all the time.

LOL now i am an old man and it truly been a while since i have been to a concert. BUt i dont see what all the concern about a ecigs would be. I mean i dont smoke weed and never have but i remember getting a contact high from being there. So they think my ecig is going to bother who ?

Last time, I had 4 ego batteries with cartomizers on them. My juice was in a plastic bag with my shampoo, etc. They looked at the bag with the juice & said nothing. The pouch went thru the xray, nothing said. I did stash a couple of ego batteries, spare cartos & another bottle of juice in my check in bags. This was at PHL. Same thing coming back from SJU. No one questioned me on either end.

I actually discovered vaping due to a situation like this. I was at a Ladies Night Out with some co-workers. One of the ladies was moonlighting as an usher at a concert venue and the question of whether vaping should be allowed at concerts came up in the discussion. Unbeknownst to me, one of the other ladies had been using an electronic cigarette for a while.

The op must have managed to find an untrained security person if they were questioned about this. The only time I was really concerned about security are the times I've had to pass through security at the courthouse. Nobody even blinked an eye though, so my concerns were groundless.

The last concert I went to (Volbeat) was general admission. I can't stand for long periods of time without assistance due to an old leg injury so I brought my cane. The security wouldn't let me enter the venue with said cane because they thought I might use it as a weapon. Tried (in vain) to explain that I really did need it. Funny thing is, they didn't care about my Darwin at all.

Security is one of the reasons I don't go to concerts or sporting events anymore. Not worth it. They have enough people who have been trained well enough to "submit and obey" who will happily part with their money... Not me though.

Wow, and here I was naively believing that the security staff at my favorite music venue here in Austin (The Mohawk, for the record) were just normal guys doing their job, ensuring the safety of everyone at the club and making sure no one brings in anything that could get the entire business shut down. Instead they are apparently insidious thug members of a vast conspiracy to subjugate the spirit of me and my fellow concertgoers who are actually paying money to submit to this! Thank you for this information as I will never count myself amongst The Sheep ever again.
