So i obviously smoke analog cigs, but then i heard about e-cigs, and went on to research a little bit more(on this forum). Everything seemed to make it sound like it is really good for addicted smokers. so i did some more research and noticed that the 510 was a very popular model so i got it. Joye 510 is what i have

So this is my second day on the electron cig and my first thoughts are, yah its a good vaporizer, i can feel the nicotine hit me. but then i look at my analogs and think "ya, im getting my nicotine but i still have cravings for the real thing." i guess regular cigs just hit me harder or there are some other
stuff in regular cigs that im addicted to. maybe you guys can answer that thought.

so these past 2 days i have smoked less regular cigs, but i still crave them, just not as much.

also, I have a manual switch so i was about to say this thing is ****, but then when it got warmed up i could feel it alot more. i feel it alot more when i exhale then when i do when i inhale, when i exhale its more of a burning sensation if i let my 510 get warmed up.

anyway, im happy with the e-cig (joye 510) and the fact that it helps me limit my analog smoking more. although i dont think i an fully convert to it.

if anyone could answer some questions they see in this it would be greatly appreciated! :)

If it's helping you limit your analog smoking... that's a good sign. You may have to up your nicotine level in your juice. Have you purchased juice? What level of nicotine? If you only have cartridges you'll need juice. Go high - like 24mg or even 36mg and see how that goes.

What I did was take three drags on the ecig first before having a cigarette and wait a bit. Once the nicotine hits the bloodstream I didn't need the analog. But I'd still get mental picture of smoking an analog for about 3 weeks straight :) After that, not as often.

Take more draws filling your mouth up with vapor and then exhale. If you can pick up some VG, suggest Ecopure from Innovapor.com that helps with the vapor production but the 510 in that 'cig style' is a pretty good vapor generator. If you hang with it, you might want to look at the Janty Stick or other 'mods' but learn to use the 510 first. If you have juice, or when you get juice - keep the cartridge topped off and when you see a battery in the charge is fully charged, change it. Initial battery charge and a new topping off is the best at vapor and flavor production.

If you want to quit cigs, this is your best shot because of the visual on vapor/smoke which is also part of the habit. You can get the nicotine from patches and gum but not the vapor, of course. It seemed easy for me perhaps because I never intended to quit so that wasn't part of the equation. I still wanted a cigarette again, for about the first few weeks but when that urge arose - I hit the ecig first and the urge went away .... for me. That's the best I can tell you... in my experience. Many here wanting to quit have been sucessful so there's a good chance it will help you quit as well. Some will power may need to be applied....

Good luck.

You may just surprise yourself. I started out with my ecig and cut down to 3-4 cigs a day (down from about a pack a day habit). This went on for a few weeks, then I found I didn't even want the real thing, so I tossed away the few packs I had left and now vape only.

I got the ecig hoping to ease off cigs completely though - that was my goal. Still, I was surprised to find that I was actually able to stop the cigs without any hassle whatsoever! There is a learning curve however, and you will need to find the juice(s) that satisfy you. Also, the way you draw on the ecig can make a big difference as to vapor and throat hit. Enjoy! ;)

Analog cigarettes do contain several (about 4,000 according to a lot of sites) chemicals that might give you a different type of buzz. Particularly, almost all analogs contain ammonia that is supposed to help the nicotine hit you faster and/or harder. imo: The additives in cigarettes are not worth it.

If analog cessation is your goal, don't buy anymore and see how long you can go without getting a pack. Some may find it easy to crave analogs, especially when they are lying around the house.

btw: Congratulations on cutting back on analogs!

I agree with the juice point - try some higher level nicotine juice and see if that helps. Meanwhile, what is working for me is just letting myself be. I smoke an analog when I want one, and vape when I want to. What I have found is that over the last few weeks, the desire to smoke analogs has disappeared on it's own. For me, it has been extremely important to not push myself. I am the type to want whatever you say I can't have. So the analogs are still here - my panic button. I just don't want em. And if I do - so what? It's less often than before.

If you are anything like me, first get the higher nic juice and then allow yourself the choice. Enjoy the vaping experience and try a couple of neat new flavors while you are at it. It made a huge difference for me when I found flavors and juice that I loved. You couldn't tear Drew's (Nhaler) Pear Lung juice from my hands if ya tried. The juice makes a huge difference and my analogs just don't stack up.

I have heard Drew's high voltage juices are killer! I have 30ml of the Pralines and Cream, and the Vanilla Coffee on order as we speak, and a few of the samplers as well! Can't wait to rip into them! :D

Don't worry about still needing analogs. I began using e-cigs in late May when my boss bought them for himself any everyone else who smoked, and I told him then I'd be happy to try it, but I wasn't necessarily going to quit smoking.
Enjoyed the e-cig, and recognized I was indeed cutting down on analogs, but decided that I would just keep using both and see where it went. I did get some higher mg. liquid (24 vs. 18) and found that I was smoking less and vaping more, but still always started the day with one or two analogs, finished with at least one in the evening, and sometimes had a few others throughout the day. I smoked whenever I wanted to, and applied no restrictions on myself.
Interestingly, by August 4 I just stopped wanting or needed analogs. Not a conscious plan, just haven't felt the need or desire. I still have a pack of cigarettes, and I'm free to smoke one if I choose, I just don't choose to today.
Also, for me the 510 was a good unit, but the one that really kicked it for me was the DPV9 disposable cartomizers - somehow the throat hit I got from them was better, though I have since switched over to the greencig carts (though these carts definitely need help from better liquids - the good thing is they are refillable, and last quite a while with numerous refills).
Just experiment and enjoy the vaping experience, and let your body decide if and when you're ready to completely make the switch - it's not a contest, just a most interesting journey.

Yes. What they all said! Possibly juice nic/flavor and time.

I was disappointed when I started that I reached for analogs occasionally and then on like day 5 it hit me....

I was vaping and reached for my lighter, lit it and almost melted my LED on my 510.

Smoking is a ritual habit too. My father quit smoking in 1972 and in 2005 he still reached in his shirt pocket now and then for a cigarette. Hopefully, as you become more comfortable with your ecig, it will replace the pack/lighter/tapping/lighting ritual. It is for me.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the vanilla coffee! Just got it last week and haven't touched anything else. Don't even like the tobacco flavor anymore.

Seems like I craved cigs less when I broke away from the tobacco flavors and appreciated vaping for vaping and not as a crutch for smoking.

I was lucky. When i bought my e-cig I though that it was the dumbest thing i ever did, but the first day I smoked both the analogs and the e-cig, the next day i took 1 emergency cig to work, and by the end of the day someone asked me "so how do you like it?" to show them how much I liked it I crumbled my real smoke and threw it out. that was july 9th, and I haven't had a real one since. sure, you'll want a real one. I still do here and there, and there is a learning curve (one I'm still on) but vaping is so nice. I can do it anywhere! I vaped on a plane. at work, subway, in the movie theatre. Stick with it. If you really want to quit regular cigs, it's going to be a little hard. Nothing out there will be exactly like a real cigarette, but stick with it, you may like it more. I realize I like it more now. I think thats why I don't backslide. The little counter you can get to add to your signature that adds up your days without an analog helps too, believe it or not... makes you feel proud to see those numbers go up, and up, and up...

What a great idea !

Maybe we could even start a promotion (for want of a better word) around this - suggest that companies do this for their workforce (while perhaps helping themselves too) ...

You're nearly at 1000 :)

Just imagine those all lined up end to end !

Would be nearly 100m long ...

Want to reduce health care costs??? Offer your employees the ecigarette option! Non-smokers get lower rates. Premiums reduced for employers and co-pays reduced too.
