I got my first mech mod an Anubis on EBay. The listing didn't mention anything about it being a clone so I'm thinking it's an authentic. It came with a string style wick already in place. I saw a YouTube video and the coils in it didn't have a wick in them like mine does.
The wire is super thin. Would these be alright to use? I thought coils needed to be fired to check for hot spots before inserting wicking?
Are any of you familiar with this mod and coils by chance? I tried to upload a pic but I can't find one 1mb or below.
Thank You in advance!

The one on the left is the Anubis. I would suggest building your own coils and not using the ones that come with it. You can't dry fire with the wicks already in the coil.
If you have anymore questions, lemme know :)

This is pretty off topic, but how do you like the little boy?
It's a great rda has plenty of air flow and deep juice well. I haven't used it in a while. I use my derringer with dual parallel coils built with 28g 5 wraps comes out to .25. I have the same set up on my zenith :)
I'm gonna try the same build on the little boy :)

I don't think you're going to like what I have to say but I have to say it. You don't sound like you have any idea what you're doing with a potentially dangerous device. You really need to educate yourself about your mod and what you put on top of it before you use it. True mechanical mods are for advanced vapers who understand the equipment they are using and how Ohm's law applies to it. That means knowing exactly what gauge and type of wire they are using, exactly what resistance the coil they build from that wire measures out to, exactly what kind of wicking material they are using and exactly what the battery they use to power their mods are capable of. It might just be they way you typed it but; it doesn't sound like have even the basics down.

It is from fast tech.... Its not authentic, though I would be entirely unsurprised if some authentics and clones are made in the same Chinese machine shops.
The last plume veil clone I saw at a B&M had better fit + finish than the last authentic I handled. :(

Lol
The Anubis is a Chinese made original mod (made by CloudCig).

Thank You Everyone!
I think I'm going to try to pull the wicks out and dry fire and then try to reinsert the wicks. If that fails I will just rebuild.

Good advice Ruet!
I do take this very seriously. I have been reading and studying about battery safety, ohms law, and all things that apply to a mech mod. It didn't come with anything that stated what the wire size is and I can't tell by eyeball. I'm guessing 32.
However, I have a few regulated devices, and a few successful builds. I'm in no hurry with this one. Actually will not use it until I'm more confident. I've had it about a week. I've got good batteries and a good charger too.
One of my regulated mods uses a 18650 and I'm getting used to being able to tell the difference between a fresh and used battery.
Right now I'm just building the rda. The main reason I got this mod is that it's not a hybrid.

If anyone else is interested there a bunch on eBay :)
