Wow! Thanks for the education here in these forums and this board especially!
I'm making a "Puck" but couldn't wait for the 901 atty's to come in so I started tinkering....
I made the "Down and dirty" Named that because it only has three parts: battery holder, switch, alligator clip and only three solder joints.
I took a 4 AA battery holder, soldered an alligator clip to the negative terminal, soldered one switch leg to the positive terminal and the other leg to a thin piece of wire.
The thin piece of wire fits right in the tiny hole in an atty from my Smoke51 Trio (not sure what kind of atty it is) and then the atty gets clipped in the alligator clip.
Done!!
I know nothing about atty's and wanted something that could fire up any atty w/o any mods... Now I have to figure out how to feed it juice... lol
I tried it with 4 rechargeable batteries and it tasted a little burned at 4.8v so I took out one battery and put in a jumper... works great at 3.6v.
Nothing earth shattering but fun to work on and educational.... I got the confidence to experiment form this forum and I'll be tinkering more with this and other projects!.. The first of many, I'm sure!
Thanks to those who make this a great forum!
I tried to post some pics but can't figure out how... will only let me put in a url for uploading and won't upload from my computer.. so I put them in a folder in my profile if you wanna take a look!
Update: Not getting much volume out of it... not even as much as with the stock 240mAh battery... I'm using 3x 2500 mAh ni_mh rechargeable. hmmmmmm... more tinkering... I need some low nicotine juice for testing... lol
update: The draw was too easy so I put tape over the air holes. They're kinda big on this atty and covered when on the stock battery with smaller holes on the rim. Now this mod works killer!! Nice big vaporful hits!! Fun stuff!! Got some new flavors coming soon... can't wait to try them!
